If you think your "manliness" is defined by your shoes... wow. Wear whatever the hell you want. Who cares if a famous rapper doesn't think you're "manly."
Guys in Flip flops are everywhere here, what a stupid articel. Once you wear them, there is no going back.
^ Yeah. I prefer not wearing anything on my feet, but sometimes it just has to be done. Especially here in Phoenix, where it's always way too hot or way too cold.
Throw away your "flip flops!" I would highly recommend picking up a pair of 100% hemp sandals from Nomadic State Of Mind. I practically swear by them for most of the year.
Barefeet are "manly" -- flip-flops are an easy way out when barefooting isn't allowed. I'm either barefoot or in sandals. Hugz Bobby
Man feet are not very elegant in my opinion. Women's feet can get away with it, but a men's feet... And then those hairy bare ankels... No, keep the sandals and flipflops for the women. Altough, a women wearing blat leather boots, is quite atractive...
Some of us keep our feet looking nice, add toe rings, anklets, mens feet don't have to look bad, but unfortunately many of them do, but hey it's whatever you want to do thats important.
Yeah, toeringguy is right - I can say that I've been to at least 3 or 4 women for pedicures over the years who consistently tell me my nice are a lot nicer than any of their women clients. Now whether you would choose to use the word "elegant" to describe an attractive pair of men's feet is a matter for some debate. ;-)
I never really thought of flip flops being a girls only thing. If you're biggest problem is worrying about what everyone on the street is going to think about you wearing flip flops then you've got it pretty easy! It looks like the trend of guys wearing pink has passed, but I never looked at a guy wearing pink and thought he was less of a man. I just thought he was begging for attention from the "in" crowd. But flip flops are decades old (at least in the US) and have been worn by men and women for years and years. It's such an everyday occurance I don't give it a second thought. Now if you are going to start shaving your legs, or your toes or something, painting your toes, wearing toe rings and a bunch of jangly anklets and top it off with a skirt.. you are probably pushing it... but you'll still probably look like a man. People will just think you're a transvestite. I say wear whatever you want.
If you're trying to decide whether or not to wear flip flops, you're asking yourself the wrong question. The correct one should be "do I like wearing flip flops?"
Flip-flpos are fantastic footwear because they're designed for pretty much everybody whether you're male/female, young/old etc
I've been in this thread before and I'll weigh in again. I like the way they feel on me, and I like the way they look on me. While I believe flops are gender neutral, I suppose if they bring out the tan in my feet and have a touch of the feminine, than let it be! I'm guy enough to allow these bits of femininity, and the all-male template has ALWAYS been too confining to me anyway. Closest thing to bare foot. ONLY complaint I have is that, once again, society is tolerating more of this with girls and young women than with the rest of this. Remember that White House kerfuffle a few years ago. NO way would we ever see guys or older women trying that, let alone getting away with it. Of course, if guys stopped falling into the default Fred Flintstone template, we might gain more acceptance in these things. Still possible to be manly without slipping into that.
I'm not sure about flip flops. I like them but I walk funny in them. Are they manly? I voted yes, but it doesn't really matter. They neither make nor break the man, just like anything on the outside.
I voted yes, but honestly it never even occurred to me until I read the article that people would even ask such a question about flip flops. In my country, men and women wear flip flops and nobody ever asks if it's manly or feminine or whatever. It's just normal for us to wear them.
