In Turkey, it is common for doctors to get beaten up in hospitals. How are things in the west? Very different? Turkey's emergency room doctors are tired of getting beaten up
My father who is a doctor was about to be killed by patient relatives after the surgery was a failure.
I think the primary difference is that here security would likely prevent any physical confrontation. So in that regard, yes it's different. People anywhere are distraught after a failed surgery, but mostly I think here we would surely realize that the doctor isn't to blame. I'm sorry about your father. That sounds horrendous...
this is sufficiently unusual that it seems freaky to hear about it. i can't even imagine what people must be thinking to do so. all i can imagine is people must really really hate logic, or it has something to do militant war politics. (i have heard this about middle east war zones, but even that it would happen anywhere is mind boggling) i worry though about the precident that is being set by the extreme right, that there's no limits really on where we can end up going. fortunately there's at least even odds we won't go there. but odds are not certainty, so of course i worry.
