Are black women really this insecure?

I've been reading posts on a friends Facebook for a while… she's always posting stuff like "amen" etc to articles like this:

This article serves to disprove "persistent" myths.

I just have to ask, are black women really that insecure about themselves? What does it matter whether black men are marrying white women more or less than black women..so long as black women are happily marrying who they please? Why need reassurance with statistics showing just how many black men marry white & black women? I've noticed this is a cultural concern for a while.

I read another article (can't find it right now) that said "X out of X black men are still marrying black women, so don't indict us all" as if its a crime to marry a white woman. I can't even begin to imagine the uproar that would be said if a white magazine published something like that. Hell, we don't even have "white" magazines, for example 'White Star Magazine'.

Whats the deal with black women wanting black men all to themselves? I don't understand this. It doesn't bother men when I see a white guy with a woman of a different race, it doesn't even really register with me. I don't get it … ?

 

It's sensationalist journalism, in fact I wouldn't even call it journalism. It's just garbage meant to stir the emotions... and you and your friend fell for it. ha!

@ Gongshaman is partly correct. Though there could be some some truth in it. I wouldn't be surprised if black females felt that way (ive heard my past friends mention it before). Even though there are some ppl who arnt phased by interracial relationships, there is still is some weirdness over it.
For instance early on in my relationship with my boyfriend we got soo much stares. It was all bizarre to me because the stares was taking place in London (a very cosmopolitan area

 

It goes all ways sometimes.

There is always going to be racial stirring between groups.

I know White, Indian, Asian, etc who want people to stick to their own race, and get angry when there is mixing going on.

My own father made it clear to marry a black man. I probably won't marry an African American or a man to be completely honest.

But to answer your question, yes some black women are this insecure. It goes for all races though.
