Are Americans Racist?

Haha yeah But I can easily imagine that could also have the opposite result. I mean my urge to visit New Orleans hasn't decreased one bit after watching Easy rider. Now, I am aware a couple of decades have passed since that movie It still seems an attractive place to me. I'd rather go there than New York if I'd visit the states for example (personal interests people, I just don't care as much about seeing stuff in New York than other places in the states!).

 

I've noticed that I'm less interested in all-black television and movies than I am in white. I'm not even aware of any all-black reality TV, but if there were, I do wonder if I'd watch it. I suppose it's just because I'm white and feel like there's a greater connection when I see white people, but I also suppose this shouldn't be so.

Black male stand-up comedians are funnier than white guys, almost always. A lot of white people seem to agree with me, based on success.

 

Maybe in America. Here that seems not to be the case. There are a few funny ones, sure. But the most hilarious are not black. We also have some very witty and funny indo-dutch and morrocan stand up comedians (here called cabaretiers, which is derived from the word cabaret btw. which is close to stand up comedy but slight different in definition). It really should not have to be defined by racial/ethnical background of course, but I only did it because we're in this thread

 

Are there any black people in the Netherlands? I honestly don't know.

 

Of course, mostly from Suriname and the netherlands Antilles. And then also a lot of refugees from Africa for whom it is doubtful they can ever stay (I don't know how much talent they have for the comedian job as they are kinda excluded from that at this point ). There are other africans too naturally, which do have the dutch nationality, but not really as many as people from Suriname or the antilles.

A large sum of white people died with black
Tryin' hard to fight racial attacks
The media wants you to think that no whites
Really fought and died for Civil Rights

But once we have a true sense of history
You'll see this too as a mystery
If black and white didn't argue the most
They could clearly see the government's screwin' 'em both

 

there are many forms of prejudice beyond race. but without it, how could ordinary people have been convinced to go along with robbing the homes and ways of life of people already living there, to build the kinds of countries that dominate today's world. so it isn't just america, though we remain one of the worst.
