So I read a fictional novel where this master grower had a secret bunker where he grew weed and vegetables using an aquaponics system. Essentially it is a fish tank full of tilapia or trout (depending on the water temp) and their shit is pumped out and used as growth solution for the hydroponics system. So he could grow potatoes or weed with it, then drop in a hook and fish on Saturday. I am just starting out with hydroponics (sucked it with dirt-I am a lousy farmer.) But as a survivalist I would love to try an aquaponics system. There are a few good videos on youtube on the topic. I betcha it smells like fish ass thgough. The guy in the videos has his outside.
