Apple Bread

    Apple Bread


    1 stick butter
    1 cup sugar
    2 eggs
    1 teaspoon baking soda
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    2 large apples -- peeled, cored, diced
    2 tablespoons milk
    1 teaspoon vinegar
    2 cups flour
    Topping:

    2 TB. butter, cold
    2 TB. flour
    2 TB. sugar
    1 tsp. cinnamon

    -In small bowl mix milk and vinegar
    -In medium bowl mix flour and salt
    -In large bowl cream butter, eggs and sugar
    -Add baking soda to milk and vinegar. Stir into butter, eggs, and sugar
    -Add vanilla
    -Add flour and salt
    -Turn in apples
    -Pour into loaf pan
    -"Cut' to mix topping with knife and fork; sprinkle on batter

    Bake 350 deg. 1 hour

    this sounds really good....think some nuts would be good in this as well?

    Thanks! I LOVE this recipe. When my sister-n-law was pregnant I made this for her shower and after that she had a constant craving for it so I had to keep makin' it for her *lol*

    I've never tried adding nuts; but hey, it might be great that way. If I was makin' it for the first time I'd try it without the nuts just to see if I wanted a nutty taste to it.
