I'm materialistic and need the physical copies myself. I've been buying most stuff on vinyl lately. It's a shame digital downloads have taken away physical CDs. Digital might be okay for mainstream shit but our metal covers and booklets were always the shit with artwork etc. I really miss it.

Yes! I still buy CD's! Especially when it comes to Rock and Metal. However, often I download the album first and if I like it I will purchase a copy. It's quite expensive to buy CD's here in Sweden. New ones cost around 40$.

absolutely no. i buy vinyl and convert to digital IF i need or want to. its one extreme or the other. CD's are awkwardly stuck in the middle.. out of date and irrelevant.

    CD > mp3.

I prefer to download lossless if I can...no information lost from the original recording (even if it's frequencies I can't hear anyway)

I still have old vinyl from my original music collection. Loved the cover art and it was great opening them up to see what buried treasure might be inside. Tapes - I still have some but gzzz they really were awful and messed up easily.

CDs - huge collection although the artwork of them got tiny. I still like having the music in hand but I do have an extensive digital collection as well. To each his or her own just - probably just as varied as the collection you own too.

Digital doesn't have to be dusted off, but I always loved the cover art.

The difference between a physical copy and an mp3 is like the difference between porn and a real vagina.

from the mp3's i have seen compared to the CD versions, i dont understand why anyone would buy the mp3 version of any music. they are the same price or cheaper most of the time on CD and you have a permanent hard copy no matter what happens to the internet or your hard drive.

I only bought five physical CDs last year.I also buy Mojo and Uncut music magazines each month which have free CDs on the cover, either of new music or based around a theme.I don't listen to music as intensely as I used to anyway, but often just find myself drifting around YouTube.

Yes I also have a lot,and am very selective.I'm thinking about getting some of those bound albums that hold CDs,kind of like a photo album, that also let you slide in the CD cover. This would be a good space saver.
