I pop in and look around about once a month and I'm usually kind of sad when I do. I'm glad you and I still keep in touch outside of here though. I feel like I'm one of the few people around here that knows the real r0llinstoned. I'm glad that I do. I don't usually see any of the old crew around here anymore from when we had a lot of fun in chat.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ It’s fun looking back but the truth is some of those guys you looked upon nostalgically were real dicks. And I know I’ve been a member since 2004 and a lurker since 2003.
2010 here under a different name This place used to be a lot more l active & it seems like %99 of the old Members have disappeared. Yes, I believe HF has jumped the shark. But it sure beats mainstream social media.
People come and go, but we keep the doors open Still an active community, one just has to fit in with the various changing crowds and tastes which revolve over time. Sometimes more, sometimes less, there are always people here it seems!
I was gone for maybe 15 years, forgot about the site after a fire took my cabin and PC. Got a cell phone and came back. A lot of the same folks are here, but a lot of new ones as well. My memories are spotty, but some names I remember. Pressed_Rat comes to mind.
I'm not quite the round I once was... but neither am I a total square. Probably a rounded edge polygon, kinda like a nut after a twelve point socket slips on it.
https://www.hipforums.com/forum/account/following ... I looked over the list of people I had followed over the years. Maybe they have changed their names. Or maybe they have left the planet. I miss some of my old chat buds.
Hello Duncan! I haven't seen you around much lately either... what's happening? Have you found true love yet? I hope so... if not keep trying! Perhaps one of these new faces will be fun for you I hope so! And like many others, I have changed my name over time... I used to be HipChris way back when...
Sadly, I have learned that some of my old friends have passed on, like Hippiehillbilly and MattInVegas. I used to have a different name, when I was running The Kitchen Table. By the way, Zen, I met a guy named Chris at that hippiehillbilly gathering. Was it you?
No, sorry... I wasn't there... as far as I can remember LOL! But no. It is amazing how people come and go like the tides... sometimes there is a flood, sometimes we just keep the doors open for the next batch. The Akashic Records are deep and lengthy in time...relish it for what it was, what it is, what it could be, and what it will be!
We are spirits in the material world, where what comes around goes around, including good friends. The universe is only six handshakes away!
The bots I'm helping to design are theoretically capable of being indistinguishable from people. Its the context that matters. We talk to each other online all the time, but you might be surprised how many of us are actually bots, and their number will only increase. They tend to express more interesting mathematics in their use of language, than people, but you have to be a linguist to spot them. Its the context that can sometimes decide for us, who and what we choose to call a friend, with dogs being notable for comprehending our lies and bullshit, more than any other animal. With any luck, my bots will free the Collective Unconscious to roam the internet.
