DD I like, not me favorite movie but its good, Id rather watch reservoir dogs quotes are better "why fuck am I mr. pink" "cause youre a faggot all right" or the classic "I dont give a fuck what you know or dont know Im gonna torture you anyway"
reservoir dogs is one of tarantinos old movies, gotta love any movie that has a torture scene with someone dancing to johnny b goode
I'm just going to keep my expectations low for S. Darko. Just like Amybird said. I saw DD when it first came out. I really liked it, but I didn't watch it again for a while. Then everyone started going crazy for it, so I watched it again and then I really loved it. I've noticed that DD takes multiple viewing and you still find something new everytime, that makes it even better. I even got my mom hooked on that movie.
I think pulp fiction is overrrated its good but not that good, id rather watch RD or from dusk till dawn, or some of rodriguez' work
I really liked Donnie Darko so I'm kind of curious about this one even though I suspect it to be a standard sequel in the sense that it will be a lot worse than the first one. Don't understand how someone can find Donnie Darko boring though... To me it's one of those movies that's definately worth watching a second time, but especially the first time the story is so intruiging you want to know where it goes. :cheers2: By the way, to me Pulp fiction and Reservoir dogs are neither a favourite of mine. They both have some good scenes, especially Pulp fiction but to me Jackie Brown and Kill Bill are more worthwhile. But I don't wanna make this another Tarantino thread
never really loved donnie darko. it's way too slow and way too boring although a different concept for the plot. i can appreciate that. but, the movie wasn't made for people to enjoy, it was made to be odd. lame.
I completely loved Donnie Darko, we did a study on it in english class back in me schoolin' days, i love everything especially the soundtrack to that badboy ha Although i watched what i THINK was the trailer.. I wasn't quite sure because it looked so bad..
To me it feels actually that there are so much movies trying to simply entertain you I find some different approach pretty cool most of the time. To the people who think Donnie Darko was boring, do you regard a movie like The good, the bad & the ugly also boring? By the way, I thought Donnie Darko was a pretty obvious mix of plain entertainment and an odd story. Same approach as with for example The butterfly effect or Twelve monkeys.
Twelve monkeys is a weird timeline story with Bruce Willis and Brad Pitt. If you liked The butterfly effect I recommend it. Spun is the typical movie I ment that's made to enjoy and nothing else. I did like it although it has some over the top things I do not really care for. Some of the characters like the coke cowboy, the scruffy dealer and the black metal teenager were pretty fun
yeah. i didn't care for the butterfly effect b/c of the animal abuse that occurred. i don't watch any movies where there is any animal being hurt. but, what's the point of a movie being odd just to be odd if people can't enjoy it? not that a lot of people didn't enjoy d.d. but, i am just over the concept of being different just to be different.
VH, go find yourself a copy of a movie called primer, you'll fucking hate it Also 12 monkeys is probably in my top 5 films, I've got a "copy" of la jetee, which is the film it was based on, which is equally as good, except its about 10 min long.
what's primer about, pypes? oh, i just want to emphasize that i don't hate d.d. it's just boring. i watched it last night just to be sure. and yep. it's boring.
