I ripped my Stretch Armstrong, too. Clear, sticky goo came out of his arm. I had a tin wind-up toy I bought at an antique store. My, I haven't thought of that in years. I remember it was a begging dog, and the winding mechanism was scary. It would unwind so fast and with such force, it would cut your fingers if you weren't careful.
One of my best memories of toys is those tiny cars that did tricks that were in McDonald's Happy Meals.
life before pong. and before i'd ever heard of mcdonalds, let alone seen one. i think fosters frosty freeze was the first fast food place i ever saw. and speaking of direct percussion, i did take a college class in flint knapping once upon a time. (well it was more general then that, it was cultural anthro and we also studied acorn processing and the making and use of bedrock mortars, the gathering of local edible and other useful wild plants)
Kids my age grew up on sex and McDonald's. It was ubiquitous. I can't tell you all the times I was exposed to pornography and Ronald Mac Donald.
I was a senior in high school when the Instamatic camera came out. Great little camera with the drop in film cartridge.
you're right. i don't remember that name. but i remember bill sears "in the park" which was almost before my time, and cookla, fran and olie. as for adult/porn, i remember barbarella when i was in the air force 1970 i think it was, and there was a series of emmanuel movies, sometime in the early 80s or late 70s, there was a movie version of story of "o", and of course 'behind the green door. just about the same time we we're first getting our paws on the technologies we take for granted today. i remember the underwear section in the mail order catalogues in the 50s, lol. buckaroo bonsai in the 8th dimension was in the 80s, and quest for fire. and the kinsey version of the cat people.
Anyone remember the eager anticipation for the year 2000? I wish I still had my memorabilia I bought celebrating the new millennium. That stuff might go up in value
considering as how i furst joined hips about a year before, yes, and i remember the new years around the world, and before that about how airplanes were going to fall out of the sky and people dead for a hundred years were all going to start receiving welfare checks, because up until that time all our os's and nearly all apps, only used the last two digits for the year. but most especially how we were standing on the brink of world peace until what happened a year later.
WhatI I'm sorry I don't have right now is a 2000 - 2500 piece jigsaw puzzle. Might even have been able to finish it before the end of lockdown!
