Anyone Remember Steven West and Federals?

Anyone from Detroit or Michigan on these boards remember Steven West, the one-time owner of Federals department store?

Steven West bought out Federals dept. store in Detroit. But it soon started going bankrupt. Then all of a sudden, the stores started burning down (I mean what are the chances of that happening?). Then I don't know what happened, because I was only a little kid at the time, and my information largely came from the adults in my life. I did recently do a internet search on him. And apparently Mr. West was eventually convicted of fraud.

Anyone else on these boards remember what I am talking about?
