I have a reservation next week in Miami to go to Haulover but the weather outlook is terrible. All of the websites etc. I've looked at have a better than 50% chance of rain each day. I don't really want to drive 14 hours down there just to get rained out each day and have to sit in a hotel room. So I'm wondering if there are any residents on here from that area or if anyone else has been to Haulover this time of year. Is this just normal weather for this time of year? Is it better to maybe go in October instead of September? The last time I was down there was in June and it never rained.
Hope the weather picks up for you. Much the same here in the UK. It's also very cold with damp in the air. Even the semi stray cat ⬛️ is seeking rest bit with me, he is from the Asian (Indian/Pakistan) labour's cat. Make the best of it and have a great time.
I'm leaning towards going. I keep watching the weather on the local tv stations and they aren't quite as bad as the national sites. I've got until Friday at midnight to cancel.
I'm a native Floridian. The forecast may say "50% chance of rain", but that doesn't mean that it will rain all day. It just means that there is a 50% chance that it will rain at some point in the day. We went to the Gulf Coast last weekend and the forecast called for rain on Saturday. We'll, it didn't rain at all. In FL, rain usually hits between 1pm-4pm. When you go, make a point to go early each day. Also, get a Weather Radar app. With that you can see where the rain activity is.
I ended up not going. The forecast was for 70%-80% for the last part of the week. I should have went but it's a very long drive down there. I'm going to change it up a little next year and go to Haulover in June and Cypress Cove in August. The last time I went to Haulover was in June and it was fine every day.
When I lived in Florida (albeit in the Orlando area) this phenomenon was almost like clockwork, like nature scheduled it.
