    Fascinating stuff.

  2. Even The Beatles gave up on that whole thing in very short order.

Honestly I feel a whole lot of these gurus are bullshit artists simply looking for a way to take your money.

I travelled to India in the 1980s, as part of a Buddhist pilgrimage. I tagged along with a group from Los Angeles who had sponsored two weeks of teachings by the Dalai Lama. We stayed for those teachings and then travelled around northern India and Nepal, visiting Buddhist sacred sites.

It was not like it would have been in the 60s, but it was still a pretty hip thing to do.
