Hey all. I just moved to Dallas from Tampa. Don't know where anything cool is at. If anyone knows of any good places to go to, any help would be great. Gracias
Oh man... if you just moved to Dallas... Definitely hit Deep Ellum! At the intersection of Elm and Good Latimer is where it starts. It is *the* spot for night life and entertainment... On Friday and Saturday nights, they close down the street and people stumble in and out of the clubs and live music venues that line the street. There is a GREAT little Hookah Bar on Elm called 'The Velvet Hookah.' They have free hookahs and CHEAP drinks on Sunday night. Otherwise, the drinks are kinda pricey and the hookahs are $10 a pop. Still, a great atmosphere (muy romantico!) and a good d.j. spinning all kindsa funky stuff. If you're up for a dance, go to Uropa. They have $2 wells on Friday and Saturday nights and the place is PACKED with hot guys and girls. They play great hip-hop, rap, trance, and techno until 4 a.m. If you're more into the live music scene, there is always the Gypsy Tea Room and Trees. Trees is where Kurt Cobain once got his ass kicked. Cool, huh? I also suggest that you pick up a copy of the Dallas Observer, an alternative news publication that has reviews of all of the clubs and restaurants here. They publish a weekly calendar of all of the upcoming events, as well as advertisements for the local trannies, prostitutes, and massage parlors! Whoo hoo! Dallas is a party town Conservative by day... but Deep Ellum gets all freaky at night! Welcome to Texas, MgicMshroom420!!!
Hippie Vixen, I was at that show and saw it go down. I live east of Lubbock now, as stated in previous posts in this forum.
the problem is all inside your head, she said to me the answer is easy if you take it logically. I'd like to help you in your struggle to be free there must be 50 ways to leave your lover. she said it's really not my habit to intrude furtermore i hope my meaning won't be lost or misconstrued so i'll repeat my self, at the risk of being rude there must be 50 ways to leave your lover chorus: just slip out the back, Jack make a new plan, Stan don't need to be coy, Roy just listen to me hop on the bus, Gus don't need to discuss much just drop off the key, Lee and get yourself free. she said it grieves me so to see you in such pain i wish there was something i could do to make you smile again i said, i appreciate that, and would you please explain about the 50 ways. she said, why don't we both just sleep on it tonight and i believe that in the morning you'll begin to see the light and then she kissed me and i realized she probably was right there must be 50 ways to leave your lover 50 ways to leave your lover... chorus...

I live in the Finest City in The Great State of Texas. And................................ We all be knowin' where 'dat is, right, pardners? Austin. LostinAustin. LOL Fastest-Growing City in the ENTIRE COUNTRY for the past three years. Wow. Love-hate thing, really, that I got not with A-town. It's gotten way too big. We have become Californicated. But this place is still the ONLY place I'd live in Texas. Well....I could live out in the Big Bend area, I reckon. Like Alpine. If I had money and was retired, that is. There's no work there. Anyway...yeah...............AUSTIN, TX. here. C.
i been over to austin a few times it was a nice city but i couldn't live there for long some of the people are something else but good city
"Some of the people are something else?" Care to elaborate what you mean by that? Go ahead, mate, be honest. I won't get offended. I've lived here a while and now call Austin home, but I didn't grow up here nor was I born here, so I don't care if somebody disses the city or some of the people. I'm just curious. I'm pretty sure I know what you're gonna say, but please feel free. Cheers.
You'll need to maybe use a larger typeface, Celtic, if you want anyone over the age of 16 to read your stuff. It;s pretty but very hard to read) That's not a criticism . . . merely a request.
My first trip to Texas was 1962. Flew into Biggs Field in a KC197. I was a comms tech in the Royal Canadian Navy at the time, hitching rides with USAF and USN. Secnd time was April 2003, via Texarkana, Ft Worth Austin, San Antonio, Fort Stockton and Pecos. No complaints. Austin was great.
