Hurray! Chamomile is great stuff In Mexico they call it Manzanilla, and they drink the tea daily down there.
The California Soap Flower. Hard to believe they would gather enough of these tiny flowers to make soap, but that's what Native Americans did...
And the big one, Cardoon. Over 6 feet tall and crowned with purple flowers I understand they eat the tender shoots in the Spring, but these plants are awesomely overgrown!
I have dig up a space in a corner and planted two basil plants. They should do well in their sunny location.
I would love updates on their well being I haven't grown anything from a seed to flowering plants before so I'm proud of myself, and I've been tending to these plants for months. I believe they would have grown quicker in full sun, but they get about 6 hours a day of afternoon sun.
Beautiful. Roman chamomile is a perennial but German chamomile is an annual. If you have German chamomile and want to grow it again next year, leave some flowers on it so it can make seeds. You could either collect them and replant or just let it self sow and it will sprout wherever the seeds land.
I have the German variety, I plan on letting the seeds fall back into the pot, but also saving some and sharing some as well. ❤️
Since my last report, garden suffered hailstorm. Potatoes peas, and some pepper and tomato plants took a beating.
O Ouch! So sorry to hear about this damage... hope the plants can recover. And yes the peppermint is spreading, but we love it!
