Garden started appearing 3 days ago. Suppose to be hitting the 50's for the next week.
Have tomatoes and peppers plants under the lights about n3 inches tall.

Time to let your daughter do the big-scale field stuff, and you do the fun stuff.

I try to limit my plantings to what will be fun and easily usable. It's nice not to have to fire up the tractor to do tilling, and to be able to carry my daily harvest during the summer in a couple of hand-carried bags.

I could never do that when I had a huge garden, plus I had to dress appropriately for doing mechanized farming. I like being able to go out there nude or dressed minimally when the sun is not beating down on me, especially in the mornings and evenings. That minimalism and lack of mechanical noise makes me feel connected to a long history of humans being much more connected to the earth than to the virtual world.

Been having the urge to try some dryland rice lately but everyone's out of stock.
May just try sprouting some from sprouts market and do a kiddie pool paddy if I get bored enough

Yes, that day and most other days are garden nude days for me. My garden is in a secluded area, so I don't need to worry about the reactions of other humans. Humans are the only species I know of that have any reservations about nudity. The quail, lizards, songbirds, rabbits, and insects never give it a second thought. Evenings are good right now, but pretty early mornings will allow me to go directly from my bed to the garden without bothering with the dressing ritual. It's nice to feel embraced by the natural world, rather than at odds with it, especially first thing in the morning.

Plating sweet corn today. Temps in midwest went from 50s to 90s. Finally dry enough to till.

I planted bunch of berries (blue, rasp, straw) this spring. I also planted garlic and onions. Hoping to plant the tomato plants and sow all my favorite seeds.
