what's south florida like compared to north florida?? i live in central florida though so i never really checked out either lol
South florida is a different. First spanish is spoken almost everywhere! Plus ppl are a bit rude but hey its a bug city. Lots of beautiful ppl everywhere too and a few zombies. I been to tampa, st.port lucy, orlando, naples, the capital, st. austine. And I can say that those are very americana cities compared to south florida.
Going North past Palm Beach you start getting back into the American Deep South again. Here in South Florida, especially Miami-Dade County you have cultures from the North East urban U.S. to Central/South America and the Caribe. No melting pot, more like ensalada. There is a large gay population that is 'out,' whereas most are likely closeted in the small southern towns of rural Florida, just as the rest of Dixie. Exception being Gainesville where the University of Florida dominates the city and liberal activists give the conservative good-ol-boy, bible thumping culture hell.
Miami can be fun. It's a big beautiful city but it's drowned out by hispanic culture and language. There use to be so much diversity and now everything just plain sux. If you don't know spanish you will have a hard time getting around/ finding places. And the restaurants are limited to chain restaurants, latin food and mexican. I still love living here though. It's very different from any other area in Florida, or any where else for that matter

Sitting here in my apartment on Miami Beach, enjoying the sound and fury of the occasional feeder band of the approaching tropical storm - but confined to a day indoors. This is my world view today. Hope all the rest of you in South Florida are having a good day, and that it doesn't hit the West Coast of Florida or the Gulf Coast too hard in the coming days.
rode my bike to ft.pierce from melbourne a couple weeks ago. just got back yesterday. that was one hell of a ride lol
I'm from South Florida. I live in Sebastian and I hardly know anyone around here. It really sucks for sure. I wish I had some friends that I could hang out with.
