Oh I just love it. All the countryside around and the view from the hills and the little villages scattered about. Where are these parties though?:D Mostly seems to be old people forming ramblers societies and the like. I just haven't cracked the hidden Malvern party scene yet, obviously:cool:

They are kind of hard to find, owing to the fact that they shut down the con club. I think it used to be tuesday evenings at the pub on t'other side of the hill was open mike night. I used to go to them and then walk over the hill under the full moon pissed and stoned, those were the days...

That's where all the hippies used to gather. There's shit going on if you get to know them, I was on the fringes of it all whilst I was there.

Apparently Nigel Kennedy used to throw free parties there and lay on loads of free booze, but I never managed too get to one of them.

I can't tell you how much I miss those hills though, the fresh air and the spring water.

mate your decription of the malvern hills is amazing. i really wanna go now! I can see them in te distance from where i work. I should have gonna to the big chill there last weekend; sadly i didnt.

Let me know about any parties going on, ill train it up. But the fresh air and breeze of the malvern hills sounds awesome to say the least. do people camp there? I might get there and set up a tent and a camp fire. watch the sun set/rise. ohh the thought of it! lol

I don't know what parties are on there these days, I don't live there anymore.

But I went to the Big Chill in 2005, that was a festival and a half. Pissing rain for weeks it was, and then the weekend of the festival it turned into idyllic sunny weather. One of the best festivals I have ever been to.

Get yourself up to St Ann's cafe, not sure if it's still the same they were talking abut changing it last time I was there, but that's a pretty beautiful wee spot, like something out of lord of the rings.

yeah rainbow is good. its my fav in brum right now. mate if digbeth was any other way it really would not work. its not glam and its not meant to be. although the council are trying to close the rainbow and a few of the independent pubs so they can build more commercial buildings and office blocks, its very sad cause its probably one of the only places let in brum for creatives.

Yep, it's mine. We sail around the world twice a year and have won an array of medals for our bravery at sea*

Yeah definately, the last Drop Beats I went to was one of the best nights out I've ever had.

Yeah you're not missing much. The cathedral is pretty like Smelly D says, and people bang on about it being one of the few with three spires in the country. Dr Johnson (the guy who wrote one of the first English dictionaries) was born here, as was Erasmus Darwin (grandfather of Charles Darwin), and Lord Brooke (an important figure in the Civil War) was killed by a lucky shot from a guy called Dumb Dyott. That about sums it up really. It's mostly just full of whinging old people.

Oh and there was a murder here recently that made the national news. Go Lichfield.
