anyone ever taken serotonin?

    Yes. I take SSRIs (citalopram 20mg/day) on a regular basis.

    And I took 3 5-HTP pills imported from the US (we're in Oz). 30 minutes later, I was rewarded with a 1-day long mild headache :stunned: Didn't need to take my ssri's for the next 3 days tho :)

    That is all that happened. Then again, an E did nothing for me, either.

    It might be worthy of note that a friend of mine noticed no effects after five 5-HTP pills, and he's not on anything at the moment.

    Pseudo, on the other hand, is a nice subtle upper at 240mg... :D

    Just for clarification, SSRI's do affect your serotonin level, but unless you have a mood disorder, it pretty much won't work.

    SSRI's sort of "unclog" the receptors in a way. They make it so (when you have a disorder) the serotonin will go through the transmitters.

    But people without disorders have no problem with that, so don't be doing zoloft recreationally...
