Anyone ever been to amsterdam?

^^^ yeah, I could never afford to be there for more than a few days to a week, so I would probably buy it by the gram and get two different kinds per day. I would smoke EVERYDAY that I was there. Not doing that would be a complete waste

yeah, that doesnt really make sense to only be able to carry 5g for a maximum for "personal use." what i was getting at was that if you´re there for a trip/vacation, you wont even need to have an ounce so it doesnt really matter all that much.

on a completely un-related topic, some politician in Montana was trying to get the maximum amount allowed for medical patients to have on-hand raised. the current amount is 1oz. that you´re allowed to have (in your house, for example) but this guy is trying to get it raised to 12 ounces! 1oz goes to 12oz... that´s a big jump. i wonder what he said his reasoning was?

Depends a lot on where you go; keep off the main drag and RLD coffeeshops, as most of the gear is substandard in them and hideously overpriced.

Better value further out. In everything, not just weed.

 

prices... i have a trip booked for a week in march 2007 and here´s a rough idea of what it´s costing me (US dollars):

roundtrip flight - $560 (although someone i know just got one for something like $475)

hostal - $29 a night for 6 nights which comes out to roughly $180 total. it´s a 4-person private room, not the big barracks-style. but i think this is a pretty bare-bones hostal. all i need is a bed and access to a shower and i´m cool. wont even spend too much time in there, either. $29 a night is pretty cheap for a private room in amsterdam, so expect to see more expensive prices

3-day festival pass - something like $220 total for Jam in the Dam. 3 days of Yonder, Kellar, Dark Star, and Galactic.

spending money - however much i can get my hands on before I go. i´m not able to save too much money at the time, so my tax returns will be definitely help out. this will vary depending on how you travel, what you do, where you go, etc. there are tons of ways to save money while you´re travelling.


weed prices - at smaller coffeeshops that are farther away from the city center, you can find some grams for 4-5 euros a gram ($5.20-$6.50). otherwise it´ll vary from 9 to maybe even 20 euros a gram ($11.70-$26.00). hash will vary greatly depending on the way it was made, the quality, where it´s from, etc. bubblehash can get expensive. maybe around 40 euros a gram ($52.00). but then again, it´s really good hash so you wont need too much at a time.
i havent been to amsterdam in a couple of years, so this info might be a little off (the euro-to-US dollar conversions are current, though). but i dont think it changes too much

Worth mentioning, most places there that sell bubble sell it as 'Ice hash', or, 'Ice-O-Later'.
