anybody smoke any bubblegum lately?

I used to get this shit all the time. Bubblegum (and sometimes Bubblegum Kush) is my favourite strain of all time. It win the cannabis cup the year I was born: 1994.

It has a very characteristic flavour and smell: very sweet tasting, smells a lot like blueberry, slightly pungent, but not skunky. The high is extremely euphoric, the most laughy weed I've ever smoked, but really light. It's the least stoning and paranoid feeling weed I've ever toked, similar to blueberry in many ways, but more uplifting and less hazy.

The nugs tend to be very compact and spherical: a gram looks like a 5-piece, but bids up into a pile that looks like a gram. It bids up very easily, too, the sort of weed that you can pinch between two fingers and turn into a pile of kif. Often has about 30-40% surface area covered in orange hairs and the green tends to range from blueberry green to whiteish lime green (like white widow), though not particularly crystally in appearance. ....so has anybody been smoking this stuff? I used to come across it from time to time. IT was the high grade strain of my city in 2009-2010. But I haven't seen it in about a year now. I just want to know that this stuff is still around. It's the best weed I've ever smoked and I love it.

 

I got it from a dispensary in california about a year ago. Very tasty, indeed.

 

yeah its been a while, but I remember it was a nice high and quite tasty

 

yeah, not the most powerful weed I've ever smoked, but definitely the best flavour and the best high. And really good consistency: great for rolling with, and burns very evenly in a bowl.

Honestly I don't get why eveybody's all about THC content these days. I'd rather smoke a strain of really really fine weed than some 30% THC sour diesel that's just going to make you go home and hide under the covers.

 

Ha ha, yeah I totally agree....god how I miss the exotic southern mexican weed we used to get like Michoacan and Oaxacan gold. Impeccably cured smoke, beautiful sativa high.

 

I've never smoked a sativa I really really liked. At the end of the day I always find I prefer hybrids like bubblegum.

But then again I've never smoked really really fine sativas like what you describe. Some day I would like to try that out.

Unfortunately those strains are all but extinct. You can thank the Mexican government and the drug war for wiping them out as well as displacing the indigenous people that were responsible for growing it. Sativa is a recessive strain, those were the product of thousands of years of breeding. Without the knowledge and care of those indigenous pot doctors, those strains quickly turned to seedy ass hemp.

 

that's lame man. But I bet some mexican still has a couple seeds stored away somewhere.

I'm not actually sure if bubblegum kush and straight bubblegum are the same thing... I think the former is the latter bred with some sort of Kush strain, but I may be wrong. Either way I love bubblegum and I love that hindu kush. again, not the most potent kinds of weed, but definitely the best high/

I mean I don't get the mentality of weed growers these days. Would wine connaisseurs suddenly start making all their wine heavily fortified? I mean port is good, but you can only drink so much. It's only good if you're having cheese and it gives you hangovers. No, they stick with regular proofs and perfect the grape blends and fermentation/aging techniques.

I really wanna get my hands on some bubblegum seeds and grow some of that shit, not even cuz I'm into growing kush (honestly the responsibilty is kinda a lot for me) but just because I'm sick of smoking PK and sour diesel. I mean dont get me wrong, PK is good shit, but I dislike sour diesel.

I'm hoping to see more blueberry, bubblegum and hindu kush around this summer. Another strain I like thats been popping up recently is channel +
