Anyone here hate defense attorneys? I'm just wondering. But you know, they are just doing their job. Plus we couldn't have a trial without a defense attorney anymore than we could without a judge or jury. Think about it. I used hate defense attorneys, when I was a angry young man. Now I know better. Plus they are an important part of the system. The Anglo-American legal system, in fact. It's even in the Constitution. The Sixth Amendment. Now, if you're a conservative, and you hate defense attorneys, you'll have to explain that one to me . You conservatives are always beating us over the head with the Constitution. But do you really support it? Finally, taking into consideration all just said, I have to ask this: if you hate defense attorneys, do you want to change the system? Or is your hatred just unfocused? I always wanted to ask that. No judgements, no malice. I just wanted to ask that question. There are no right or wrong answers to it, because we are all entitled to our opinions (for now at least).
I know the laws and justice system are different in the UK to that of the USA . But everyone should have the right to a fair trial if charged or accused of something and defense lawyers are an essential component in ensuring that right is carried out. I now some lawyers are better than others but thats another topic I guess.
Access to adequate legal representation is important yes, but so too is access to 'Legal Aid'. The scumbag 'nasty sleaze party' have been cutting back on 'Legal Aid' for the past twelve years, leading to a strike of junior Barristers a few weeks ago.
I hate how they get murderers off SCOTT FREE just because they are being paid!! Dont they have a conshious??
Not a question of 'Getting off', the prosecution has to PROVE 'beyond a shadow of doubt' that the accused actually committed the crime for which S/He is being tried. If the Prosecution Barristers cannot do that, then quite rightly the accused is innocent !!!
