Its only Western NC that is supposed to be affected, right? The coast should not see much of Ivan, but maybe something of Jeane.

 

Welp, we've ended up with wind from Ivan. Thank godness not much. Had a little ocean overwash. Jeanne, who knows what she's doing. lol.

 

Well I live in SW nc and we (my house) was out of power fer 5 days (from ivan), some people more... several people died in the county from this huge landslide, there's this one lady who lost her fetus, son, mother in law, and a leg... ugh...

 

I used to live in North Carolina. I lived in Chapel Thrill for a couple of years and then in Bynum...which is this righteous little community..a former mill town...on the Haw River. Loved it. I hope to move back to the area when I finish school.

Any good hiking trails or areas to visit out your way. Coming up i have two days off, and wanted to something fun. Any ideas would be appreciated.

 

The entire Outer Banks is awesome....There's touristy stuff to do and then there's plenty of wild life refuge's, nature trails, unspoiled beach. When you coming ?

There is a good chance this weekend if the weather permits. I was down in KDH for a few hrs last weekend. I love heading down past nags head where there isnt much commercialization.

 

I've never been to Nags Head but want to.

im a carolina cruiser-ive lived in boone,asheville,black mountain,spent a summer in okracoke,i think im gonna hang here in chapel hill-durham area for a bit before i head up to ny state for a while...there no place like nc!!!!Thats 4 sure!!

 

I'm in Texas right now, but my heart's in NC. I have lots of family, friends, acquaintances up there and I hope to be moving to the coast next year with the family.

Let's see...
I've got family in Asheboro, Fayetteville and Ramseuer.
I've got friends in Beaufort, Morehead City, Emerald Isle, and Newport.
Acquaintances around the Raleigh/Durham area and up in the mountains-damn they're beautiful!
We've found houses on Emerald Isle and in Newport, Smyrna, and Bogue Sound.

Anybody here possibly go to East Carteret or Croatan High?
