Indiana native here... cool to see some action from the area. Frequent the Brown Hotel much? I used to jam out with Merv when he was not jailed, but Clinton and both Seans are still doing there thing along with Carney on the mic friday and saturday.

homecoming is approaching... saving some paper for the festivities.

To the girl who was talking about Punxsy, I am from a town over and am proud to call myself hip, but she is right they are hard to find. Raisins in the rice.

Camping in the Allegheny would be cool, I was there for the Regional gathering in 08 and the National in 2010. Neither stay was long enough.

 

I've been away for a while, but I'm back and plan on checking in daily. Anyone who is interested in meeting up and camping in the ANF this year, let me know so we can plan a time for what will hopefully be the 1st of many HipFests! We usually have snow through the first week of May. I have no preference as to when, but there are 10 days in June when I can't do it and 2 weeks in August. July is a busy month for many people and there are a LOT of tourists here, but I suggest we shoot for a weekend after the 1st week of July - possibly mid-July? I can find a campsite when I know how many people will be attending and make the arrangements with the forest service - I believe you need a permit for groups of a certain size, not sure tho...

We're camping next weekend, in PineGroveFurnace state park, for the opening day of trout season. My son and I have done this since he was about 6 years old, he's 30 this year.

It's a great area for hiking, on trails, or the Appy is very close, bicycles, fishing, soon swiming, just a fantastic place to shake off the winter, cook some food outside, and enjoy the campfire!!

Get out and do it!!
