Yeah but I figured those were for fall. I was just joking though. I came as close to an all night rager as I'm going to get. Pretty tired right now.
I'm going to start writing my novel, and watch the fireworks over the river Thames here in London - online on BBC news - I don't have a TV.
yeah, so either sleep at the bar, or spend a week's salary on a cab. or, like he said, take it easy and don't go out.
It only costs about $20 for a cab where I am and that's with the tip. I'm pretty sure I'm taking a cab home. Now the only question is do I want to drop the cash on a cab ride there or drive and leave my car overnight.
Around here, New Year's Eve is the night when all the novice drunks go out and party once a year. Every place is overcrowded, and everything is overpriced. No thanks, I'll pass.
Where I live for $20 a cab will get you anywhere within about a 2-3 mile radius. If you go any further you're looking at $50-60 minimum each way, and that's not counting cab rides in between if you're bar hoping and what not. So if I was cabbing it tonight I would budget about $100 to $150 minimum on cab rides just to be on the safe side. I'm not balling this week so thats why, like Dev, I'm staying local and within walking distance of home. So this way me, nor any of my friends have to risk drinking and driving.
I just posted on my facebook that I'm staying home tonight so if any of my friends need a ride home later they can call me. I added my phone number. I'd prefer to not start 2014 off at a funeral. I hope everyone has a happy and safe new years eve!!!
I finally arrived home from a small road trip. I just want to sit, relax, enjoy some wine with my boyfriend, and cook a nice dinner. It's weird how travel sucks so much energy out of you, even though you mostly sit around.
I see. Yeah...it's a lot cheaper here. I'm not going to the bars at all though. I'm going to a smaller party. I know there will be sober drivers there who will give rides so between them and cheap cabs...I have no reason to worry about driving. I just wouldn't drink much if I had to drive. The only way I am ever in a bar on NYE is if my band is playing and on those nights our bus just drops me off at home. Front door service!
I'm going to watch Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin Eve and drink some home made sangria with my man. I'm trying to be excited about it, but for some reason I just feel really depressed.
AAA offers a free service every NYE, you just have to call them and they'll pick you up and tow your car. but yeah, cabs are ridiculously expensive around here. It would cost me over $100 round trip to get to any decent bars here.
