Any fellow Aspergers/Autistic folks here ?

  1. I remember going through VCE and having to choose subjects i did well in.
I had a choice because we had a lot of electives.
Everyone had to do English plus up to 5 other subjects.
I did English, media, Psychology, History and social studies.

I decided not to do any maths because i was shit at it.

  2. I managed to pass my VCE
I got a low ATAR score and didn't get to do much else because it too low.
But i knew why i fucked up so badly.
I couldn't process the information as quickly as most people could.
Also the exam papers weren't in point form to make it easy to read properly
Not only that everyone used to stink out the rooms so badly.
I had a strong sense of smell, hated loud noises and was painfully shy all the way through school.
Also i had no sense of balance and would actually lose my balance a lot.
So jobs in the hospitality industry were out of the question.
Driving is out of the question.

Entry level jobs in the retail industry are my thing.

People who tell me to pull my head in are ignorant as anything.

In NSW it was the HSC. But what happened to me was, the course I was studying which was years 11/12 at High School, was equivalent of a 1st year course at university so by the time I went to university I was already in my 2nd year which was so cool I'm really happy the school offered that.

Not that I actually use it or anything... I did for a while in local sports teams, I applied to a few other special places, mostly as a joke but I did hear back. :innocent: I will be using it soon though I realise, when I start training the girls basketball.

You realize what you stated is pretty much slander, if it isn't actually founded on something?

Is pretty much slander the same as slander?

You gonna explain? It was just a hunch? Why not spill the beans. It's a pretty bold statement implying he has been lying about (a big part of) his identity for years.

Ritalin is not an amphetamine, it's a piperidine.

How did being "shy" get you prescribed to an ADHD medication? Generally ADHD kids are far from shy.

I can't imagine what it must be like for you guys.

This thread gives a great opportunity to share a fairly funny story.

So, I have to take methadone, and I ignore everyone from the clinic. Now, one of the people from the clinic went around telling everybody that I had aspergers or whatever the other condition you mentioned was.

Pretty funny stuff. I guess people feel that because you ignore them that you must ignore everybody.

My whole life I have always been really popular and have always had a ton of friends, I played in a touring punk rock band, would play shows and go to parties every night, and while I have mellowed out a ton these days and while these days I spend most my time with a few close friends and my family, it's not like anything else about who I am changed.

    I'm an incredibly social person.

I think these people have their own personal issues which will need to be resolved, but it has nothing to do with me.

Some people "psychoanalyze" others, using their half-baked knowledge of pop psychology to put someone down. Comments such as "he’s borderline" or "she’s paranoid" make it sound as if we have authoritative insight into someone’s internal workings, when in reality we disdain their faults because our ego was affronted. Casually psychoanalyzing others can be especially harmful, for it may unfairly cause a third party to be biased or suspicious.
Speaking of the faults of others

I have to see a lot of people pretending to have authoritative insight into someone’s internal workings, when in reality they disdain their faults because their ego was affronted.

The desk staff at the methadone clinic are the worst, one of them, (Kristen Cameron is her porno name) will team up with the junkies spreading lies and talking shit, that place is guilty of so many hippa violations...

Well it gave me the side effects I described however you want to classify it. I never felt like my peers who also had ADHD. They said I only had had ADD not ADHD but like I said this was not the case.

I guess they gave me the meds since I was not fitting into the mold of the other 30 kids in the class. I was just bored with some classes. Like they were sending me the 5th grade science in the 1st grade just so I would pay attention in class.

I had this really weird psychologist who was always in my parent's ear. She wanted the medication. She was convinced that my parents were abusive to one another and I was seeing this. She told them she was going to call the cops on them if they would not prove to her that they were in some sort of counseling for domestic abuse. Nothing like that was happening.

She also gave me this toy magicians wand and said "this is your magic wand. You can change anything in the world with it". She asked me a few days latter what I did and I told her I burned down houses. I knew even as a 6 year old how to troll. I did not like talking to her at all I was forced to. I'm sure that added to her idea of violence at home.

Yeah I feel pretty much the same. And sometimes people seem surprised that I have taken something literally when it wasn't meant to be. But I'm pretty sure I seem almost normal to most people and I'm not even sure I'd be diagnosed as anything. I just feel I am on the edge there and can relate to some types of autistic people.

I have a theory that my mother is on the spectrum and it could be I was nurtured into mild symptoms.

So how did acting shy get you put on meds for ADD?

The rest of what you said really didn't make much sense, at least not to me.

Why does everyone feel the need to question unfocusedanakin? Of everything I've read that he has posted, I'd bet money on him not being the type to make stuff up.

Indeed. And all I asked is what makes VG say that. But its almost hilarious how he avoids a direct answer. Almost, because he's of course making a real nasty accusation.
He has consistently been telling stuff about himself over the years. I have been convinced years ago he had some mild form of autism. Now you state with little room of it being merely an assumption that he's not telling the truth about that.
The way you stated that made me wonder you noticed something in particular. I have now repeatedly asked why you stated that exactly. Nothing close to an answer in your reactions. Like, am I asking something weird or illogical?
You seem to have trouble admitting it was a hunch at best. Why? Well, I guess we both know why :p It's still nasty slander though. If it was based on something other than your iffallible people knowledge (lol & roll eyes) you would already have explained.
But hey, maybe if you keep parrying we will all forget soon what kind of retarded statements you make and why.
It's the same when you were asked if your motivation for arguing rigidly against individual efforts to reduce pollution is coming from a mindset of apathy and/or fatalism. You know if you affirm it your convo partners will see your criticism on it in a different light. So yeah, better to react with all kinds of stuff except a direct answer (which btw is telling enough. You don't wanna admit there and you got nothing here).

I don't know what did. I was taking the meds at 5 years old and I don't have any memories of that time in my life. Maybe the drugs contributed to that but I don't remember anything about Gardening just that in 1st grade I had to take the pill everyday at breakfast.
