any experience with Tamsulosin?

good? Bad?

 

Generally good; I don't think that I wake up as often to piss; and pissing seems generally easier with it than without.

 

I have had a long-term prostate issue so I have been on tamsulosin for about 6 years. The only problem I have had is constipation but lately I have had to take another drug for another health issue and no more problems. Certainly took care of the urination issue.

 

Urologist also said to cut out caffeine completely; said it's a bladder irritant.

 

I've been on tamsulosin for about 10 years. Without it I have to sit down and really strain to have a piss, but as long as I remember to take my capsule every day I can piss as normal, standing up and with only normal effort.

 

Well that freaking sucks I gotta have my morning coffee

I use a herbal suppliment. Figure I'll wait for them to stop working before taking Tamsulosin or similar.
Without suppliments I only last 2-3 hours at night. With them I can last 6-8 hours but usually about 4-5.

I've had symptoms of BPH (benign prostatic hyperplasia) on and off for almost a year. My primary care physician recommended: (1) cut out caffeine and (2) drink high quality water (not tap water). I read online that Sildenafil (generic version of Viagra) can help for a day or two when BPH gets to be a distraction. ( I am not a doctor - only passing on info that is not included with Sildenafil)

 

I've been on it for about a year now. It's been good, I think. Two months ago I had a Euro-lift and that really seemed to help. At least now I can empty my bladder.

 

You have hit the nail on the head. It's main function is to allow the bladder to drain, when an enlarged prostate is putting pressure on the urethra

 

MIne got where I was only draining about half my bladder, thus always needing to run to restroom, even after I had just went. It is so much better now, emptying normally and now pressure when I urinate. Don't stand to close... Lol.

 

I am now having to practice holding a full bladder for 30 minutes, in order to use it to seperate my prostate from my bowel during radiotherapy prostate reduction. Getting it wrong could be fun.

Decaf can solve that. I had headaches for about 4 days after quitting caffeine totally. It was worth it.

 

Enlarged prostate which caused minute amount of blood in urine. Tried tamsulosin, it did nothing. Doc then put me on 5 mg cialis daily. Blood free for over 5 years and it still is working
