I don't really have a problem with any accent. The other day, I met a guy from Switzerland whose first language is Swiss-German. He had a cool accent.
i love hearing a big strapping boy with a southern accent. all those ma'am, sirs and polite phrases... hearing two vietnamese women shouting at each other in the locker room shower can melt your skin clear off....
about a third of the posts in this thread are from "stricken from every tablet" folk...... this amuses me......
irish, scottish, english, australian, southern, a really mellow indian (i have trouble understanding thick accents though) I just like accents in general, provided I can make out what they're sayin er, these are things i like. I should learn how to read the original post, I thought it was asking which ones drove you crazy in a good way. blonde moment
BBC Journalist English really bugs me. And the! Deva! Station! Is! Incredible! The! Heart! Break! Is intolerable, as the... EVACUEES! Get! To the camps! etc. Almost like someone decided it would be real journalistic to have William Shatner and Richard Briers' love child go into hysterics.
Has anyone heard president Bush's new chef speak? They played clips of her talking on the Daily Show, and i cant fucking stand her accent. I cant explain it, like, her "sh" sounds are REALLY pronounced. Instead of pronoucing it "world" shell say "wurled" I guess they sound the same , but does anyone know what i mean?
Ditto!!! and even though im from minnesota... i dont have the thick up north minney-so-da accent... but i cant fuckin stand it...
I have a very light French accent, but I can sound plain American somtimes too, it depends on what I say, how I say it, and how I am. I've been in North Jersey for too long.. I start speaking like the people here, and in New York. But the French accent still remains, people notice it if I talk for long enough. I love Irish accents... hate German, Russian.. LOVE Italian so much.. some British accents are very nice, hate southern US, so terrible...
speech impediment....right....you just don't like the fact that we only use 25 letters in the alphabet when we speak. maybe i should type like i talk...that would be fun
and i hate when people not from boston try and get me to say it. its stupid, its not funny at all...you can hear my accent when i say normal things anyway, i don't need to say some over-used tourist statement to let people hear my accent....
