Sorry that you're going through this Jen.
I'm sorry that you're mom's not nice to you. It's hard enough to have physical and mental illnesses and even worse to have someone around you making life harder.
There might be some things that could help here

I'm sorry that you lost your dad and that you and your sister can get better soon

Do you take vitamin C. ONE shock dose (500mg), then 60mg per day can help your immune system to keep pathogenic bacteria in your lungs at bay.
Never exceed that dose, regardless of what you read, since your kidneys will have to dispose of the excess.
Needless to say, with your complex conditions, you need to clear it with your doctor first.
Vitamin C comes from fresh fruit, so if you eat plenty their is no need to take any supplement. However, most people either don't eat enough, or it has been destroyed during processing and storage.

Doses of Vitamin 'C' don't necessarily work, but reputedly Vitamin 'D' supplements apparently keep the virus at bay.

Jen darlin' - it has been reported that Vitamin 'D' supplements tend to keep the virus at bay - yes I know you've had the virus, but doses of Vitamin 'D' might help to stop you getting it again.

Strong winds do not last, nor does the driving rain, if nature's insanity doesn't last that long, why should that of man? Don't stop believing.

That is why many people here on HF offer help and support to those members less fortunate than ourselves.

Like many intelligent people, you post interesting facts, but fall short in adapting them to actually help people who need some support.
I do not intend my comment to sound rude, but you need to consider that some people just need a few kind words to make life more bearable.

Vitamins and minerals will have no DIRECT affect on your conditions, they simply support your immune system in preventing the everyday conditions that can make things worse and it sounds as if your doctor agreed with my reasoning.... Out of interest, were you still taking vitamins immediately before your last setback.
Looking to the future, you need to see supplements in a different light, as something to keep your body protected. They prevent, not cure.

I would suggest continuing 60mg of vitamin C, on any days that you have not eaten FRESH fruit or lightly cooked veritable. The small tablets are glucose based and may be coloured orange. Fancy tablets, particularly the fizzy ones are a complete waste of money, but a small percentage of zinc helps absorption.

Likewise, Vitamin D is only necessary if it is lacking in your diet. Check the daily requirement (RDA) and do not grossly exceed it if you decide that you NEED a supplement.

I hope that all this makes sense to you.
    Wills.

    PS,
NEVER take a potassium supplement, unless it is specifically prescribed by your doctor. INCORRECT levels of potassium in your blood can cause flatline cardiac arrest. Needless to say your body requires a MINUTE level of potassium, but your diet should provide more than enough.

No one wants to stop you from sharing your poetry and thoughts, I enjoy reading them.
But just be careful when you reply to members needing help and support.
