Woke is the opposite of cool. If a person is described as being woke, they are being described as being uncool.

Surely it's clear what it means?! It's a derogatory term aimed at those who stand up for issues that the 'right' (such a paradoxial term), consider to be of little or no concern.
Yea of course it’s obvious. it’s a pejorative to discredit empathy. I was just hoping someone who identifies as anti-woke would have the courage to say it. But, of course none do
OK, I get you. I suspect there's a reason for them not admitting it. I think that reason revolves around the fact that they are often the type of person who puts others down, to detract from their own failings. (y'know, if you've little good to say about yourself, let's bring others down). (I grew up with siblings like that. Control freaks and bullies). I think too, in terms of politics, it is a mechanism to distract from empty rhetoric and unworkable policies and their lack of ideas to improve the country. I am neither Democrat nor Republican. I am not in the US. It seems to be an issue that is sweeping across the globe and it's in many European countries too.
"Woke" is a cult like adherence to the modern left-liberal culture. I recently heard it put that way by Tim Poole. He went on to say that it has mostly been built through social media algorithms. I don't think I could come up with a more precise definition than that. It's pretty right-on.
