Lemons are alive. They don't feel pain, that is the difference. I support Vegetarionism. I don't like it when you go to a restaurant and the chef gives you a terrible vege meal. I mean there are lots of things you can do with veg. It is just that many people have something against veges.

i get that shit constantly...like ive said before ive rsorted to eating lunch in my car at work because everyone thinks its okay to pick on me ruthlessly about what i eat....it doesnt help that i work with a bunch of hunters and fishers and people who kill animals on purpose and then sit there and talk about it when im eating and when i get up andleave they laugh at me on my way out

Plants lack a brain is what I'd like to add in defense to why eating plants is ok but animals is a nono.

I almost find it amusing how much hate I've received from meat eaters when I state facts countering (because they almost ALWAYS want to argue if you merely mention you don't eat meat and they hear it) in regards to the requirement of eating animals to survive.

I get that a lot too. Actually, hunters are the people who harass me the least. They seem to understand a bit more when I explain why I choose to be vegan.

I guess I just don't understand why a meat-eater is threatened by my diet, as if I'm threatening to taking their meat hostage from them.

I get told by being vegan I'm killing too many plants...

But if you eat meat you are killing way more plants than me because of what the animals are fed.

People really don't think before they say things.

I found that, too. But I support subsistance hunting. Not trophy, and not for me, but I think helping to fix the (hu)man-created over populations is better than ranching, overall.
Of course, I support reintroducing predators to the wild.

report them to management. That is harassment as much as if they were talking about porn movies.

I'm definitely with you there. If predators like wolves were at natural numbers, there wouldn't be as much of a deer population problem...

I live in Idaho, land of many hunters & fishermen (including a few of my friends). I respect people willing to kill the animal themselves & use it than those that only eat factory farmed meat & ignore the truth about where it comes from. A lot of people around here just think I'm nuts because they can't understand not hunting & eating meat...

i come from a huge line of fishers and hunters...although i am the only vegan or in my entire family , my dad is the worst when it comes to hunting and fisheing and not understanding why i dont eat meat or anything..i was talking to a friend of my dads we work with and he was saying how he eats 7 overeasy eggs in tabasco sauce every night before bed...and my dad actually said i should eat eggs because their"good for me"...i tried to explain how the cholesterol in egg yolks is disgustingly high and everything else and he wouldnt listen... he never listens to a damn word i say...neither do either of my brothers and i have 2 brother in laws just as bad...i swear some people will never get it....i guess if u wanna pump your body full of hormones and nastiness its your own business but i especially hate it when the whole animal rights thing comes up and they purposly talk about how they love shooting a deer and watching it die...makes me sick to my stomach...how could u underappreciate gods creatures so much??..okay im done ranting or ill never quit..LOL

    eggs, the great vegetarian bugaboo.
Frances Moore Lappe' used egg as the "index" protien source in the first edition of Diet for a Small Planet.
We haven't gotten over the "incredible edible egg", despite the fact the cholesterol levels in vegetarians soar when adding eggs to the diet more than 2 times a month.
seven at night? that's a lot of fat left souluable for his arteries.

I eat fish. I have problem with my blood and I mustn't stop eating it. And yes - I don't really feel bad. I'm the only one in my family who don't eat animals, so, do you think I can just do whatever I want at home? I can't cook, I come at home very late, so I'm usualy very grateful when I see my mom has done fresh salad for me.

I bet grandad was a workhorse who ate his greens, too.
and it isn't like Coors is really beer, just river pollution (you should see that "rocky mountain spring water" it's BROWN- I drive by Coors on a regular basis) :D

if you don't want to eat meat that's fine and all. i was a vegetarian for five years. but my body kept craving meat again so i ate it and i like it. my view is if you don't condemn me for it i won't condemn you for not imbibing of it. bit i will say that i don't particularly care for PETA. they are like the scientology of the animal rights world. from observing them i can definately say they are superficial assholes that care more about their image and reputation than they do for the animals they supposedly are fighting for. i say they are the sceintology of the animal rights world because of the large amount of celebrities in their ranks and the strange publicity stunts they pull. they were also caught donating money to animal liberation front and earth liberation front.

I don't really get life either, why things have to die so that others can live, but I'd rather go through life without causing other organisms pain. That's why I'm vegetarian

true true....plants are living and i think of that and it saddens me as well, but id rather eat a vegetable than an animal that can walk and make noise and has a brain and can be genuinly affectionate towards humans.
