You don't have to be a chick to be a feminist. Boringeagle is a good example of a male feminist.

Okay I'm just gonna go ahead and discuss this anyway, and if some feminist wanna cry about women let them. This is about anti-male bias, not feminism, or the trials of women.

    Here's a link: Anti-male bias in schools.

I was asked to give examples of anti-male bias and I have. Are we ready to move this discussion forward, or are people scared of discussing it for some reason?

yes exactly i think i said that 3 times or so didnt i?
the problemis some men tend to refuse to believe that theres any fault on theyre side
either side can whine poor men poor women but if neither gives what they hope to receive no progress occurs, you give respect you get respect you give equality you get equality
but some still live in the dark ages & are scared because equality would mean neither is in charge anymore
some people cant handle not being the boss..& assume that not being the boss means being bossed.. but thats not the case with equality. you get what you give..equaly..& respect is the key

Well if the topic is beat to death then kindly exit so people who were not here for it, or are interested in it, can discuss it.

In fact all the responses I've gotten to this thread are another example of anti-male bias.

    that artical is so flawed
1st off the orientation is not meant to make men feel bad, but to warn women of the dangers
second every single rape statistic is drasticly wrong
    every one
you take any random group of 100 women, put them in a safe place to really talk & you will find that around 40% have been raped, not 8% like published, not 15% like they assume it might be including unreported.. its closer to 40
the dangers are real in colledges all over the country, & especialy in that setting where fitting in is an issue, rapes go unreported more often then not
glad were discussing antimale bias thanks foe making a point

& you really think these orientations warning against rape are an attack onyou? made to make men feel bad? if so why dont more men feel bad & stop acting like ignorant pricks & basing a womands worth on wether or not you can cum inside her (again taken from you in another thread)
again i have to say you are an example of wh\y theres an anti male bias
    maybe thats why your hidding?

We're better at some things. Physical labour. Fighting. Sports. Of course we suck more at lots of things, but then again, I'm not really into any of them (ie: anything involving feelings).

that's not really the point. we see a brother who is completely angered and blinded to the reasons for it. this is the hipforums. you're likely to find very few people who agree that anyone should have their rights taken away, or to be belittled. but your anger is belittling yourself and your own beliefs. no one deserved to be marginalized, but except for a couple nasty examples, you're overwhelmingly NOT MARGINALIZED. i understand the need to fight unfairness and defend your place in this world, but you're going to have to make room for all the other people who deserve a place in this world. sometimes that includes ugly unfairness, and that's worthy of a protest. but you're TOO ANGRY and no one is going to take you seriously.

yeah, man, that's TOTALLY the point. we've evolved (or were made, depending on what you believe) to compliment each other. you know, my husband is the unequivocal leader in our home ONLY because i trust him completely and he's better at it. my best friend is clearly the practical leader in her home, and they work so well. she's down to earth, daily grind, get shit done, he's a brilliant musician. they WORK TOGETHER. they compliment each other.

Meh. It's the curse of middle-class white males that nobody believes that they cannot be marginalized. Your ostracized nerd gets it worse in highschool than most minorities, I imagine.

i get the feeling that your idea of a discussion is essentially hearing people agree with you. the last 3 pages of posts have been a discussion.

but okay, lets discuss the issue of anti-male bias.

-not all men are stupid. this is also not a notion generally held by society as a whole, therefore it a non-issue. check.
-not all men are rapists. they most certainly are not, and no one believes that they all are. but rape is a prevalent issue in society. i have been raped, my mother has been raped, and both of my best friends have as well. i would find it to be a issue, but it does not mean all men are rapists and i dont personally believe that they are. however, all men are capable of rape in a physical sense, and generally women are not. therefore, the issue is male-focused. its not at all right for a woman to falsely accuse a man of rape, but most of the accusations are true. people innocent of murder go to jail too. the justice system isn't perfect. check.
-women get custody of children more often because women are generally the primary parents of children. also, when you carry a child for nine months and push a marble out of your urthera, we can discuss this topic in further detail. check.
-i would like to see some proof that women receive lesser penalties than men for the same crimes, because i honestly don't believe that for a second. check.
-as far as men having higher auto insurance, you would have to take that up with the insurance companies. statistically, men are more reckless drivers and cost the insurance companies more in payments, so they are charged more to maintain profit for the companies. teenagers have higher charges as well, even if their records are spotless. check.

    did i miss anything?

Well, if you want to know my opinion, I think you should start showing respect to earn respect. If you want to bring attention to the anti-male issues in society, then a good start would be to discuss them rationally without throwing insults. Quite frankly, it makes the value of your argument go down and reeks of immaturity. Anti-male and anti-female go hand and hand. It is difficult to discuss one without addressing the other. It doesn't mean someone is trying to steal your "spotlight," it simply means they're trying to see the issue from both sides. Who is forbidding you from free speech? If you think there is a problem, then address it. Don't try to blame other people and other movements for you not standing up for what you believe in. Honestly, all kinds of inequality still exist today. It is sad, but true. It won't end until people stop caring so much about power, and that means males and females and every person of every race altogether.

Dunno. Looking back on highschool I can remember being a lot meaner to white nerdy kids who wouldn't stand up for themselves than to any minorites. I tended to just ignore them.

generally men are stronger, yes. i do know some pretty tough chicks though. also, giving birth is no easy feat, and no man has ever had to do that. i cant speak from personal experience though, and hope i never can.
