another thread about rep

I like the rep system too. Some forumers think it is funny to neg rep people, because they don't give a shit about the rep system or something.

I take neg rep as an insult, and pos rep as a compliment.

 

So do I. Well, I try to ignore the neg rep.. And I don't care about the balls under my name. But I do really like reading the little comments in my CP. Some of them are really sweet.

I figure if someone doesn't like the rep system, fine. They don't like it. Ignore it. Don't give out pos or neg rep. Ignore your user CP thing. Or donate to HF and get it switched off.

Complaining about people complaining about neg rep is just two too much complaining. :cheers2:

To a certain repper - I ain't gonna give you pos rep for neg rep. It doesn't work that way.

 

i could care less about rep either way, im not gonna lie though a lot of what i have received has made me lmao....

most of the neg i received was because i gave them negative first....

thats the other thing, we're supposed to give rep on posts we like/dislike and people take it so personally...

You have to degrade yourself by becoming a repwhore before you can degrade me by leaving me repless.

 

If you want to rep someone's post, you simply have to respond IN THE THREAD to it. Repping someone from a post is a personal statement to them, because of what they said in the post.

It should be given in circumstances where someone is being an asshat. If you don't like a specific post, or someone's opinion it is not, in my view, a justified reason to neg someone.

i don't care about rep either way. but i do get pissed when someone negs me for expressing an opinion. i make all kinds of dickish posts that could easily earn me negative rep, and i would understand then, but all the neg rep i've actually gotten was because i tried to have a serious discussion and someone disagreed with my opinions. and we all know having opinions is a real asshole move...

really, it's only happened a couple times and i don't feel like looking it up. plus i don't want you to see them and neg me.

the rep system is designed to rep "posts" not people....if it were designed to rep people it would be set up with the option on their home page.....

it is to express a like or dislike for a specific post, not a person as a whole.

 

There is only one person I have neg repped.

I don't neg rep for conflicting opinions... I would probably pos rep for different opinions because they would have most likely taught me something, or at least made me look at things from another P.O.V.

My original point: I don't think I've seen a serious post from you..

Are the serious posts the ones with the > < in them?
