Another Police Shooting In Missouri

Police say that the teen opened fire on an off-duty police officer.

The teen's parents say he was unarmed.

Police officer white. Youth Black.

The evidence is out in the public and this is a justifiable shooting.

 

If teen shot 3 shots at police, he had a death wish, unfortunately.
I have not watched the news yet today.....

 

The parents don't know if he was armed or not. What they could say is "we have every reason to believe that he was not armed", which is a different story.

There is also the non-zero possibility that the gun was planted on the kid.

Once all of the evidence is in, it should speak for itself.

There's no need to rush to any conclusions.

I trust the police, and the reasons they give for killing people. It's not like police have stacks of guns with and without serial numbers, or like they would ever plant those guns after murdering people in cold blood. Except for how this is a frequent occurrence.

Crafty, he got around the whole dash cam/lapel cam thing by just picking someone to chase down and murder while off duty.... but of course, he still gets all the cop protections.

They ran, and even fired at him, and........ so? There was some dude CHASING THEM, not EVEN a cop, as he was OFF DUTY.

 

Humans should just start killin murderers.

 

You are on the job 24/7, it is your duty as a police officer to investigate something even if you are not in uniform.

Police officers do not carry around guns that have been conficated, seized or whatever. And weapons are not planted, stop believing hollywood.

95% of the time these persons who have their life ended by some law enforcement personnel have put themselves in that situation by the lifestyle choices they have made.

do mistakes occur at times?
yes.
are there assholes in law enforcement positions who abuse the power inherent in said position?
certainly.
are most shootings of a person of color by a Caucasian law enforcement officer racially motivated?
not at all,
a very few isolated incidents may be, but not the majority.

do you and a few others jump on these news items like ravenous wolves making accusations of racial motivations and illegal actions on the part of the police while the "poor victim" is a misunderstood angel who just was in the wrong place and the evil jack-booted police should be strung up?

It's one thugs word against a dead thug, as this sort of thing so frequently is. And then all the racists call the dead one a thug, and forget how the live one was the more successful thug.... hence the live part.

But I'm a lot more worried about thugs with the law on their side, than thugs who have to fight the law.

 

You're on the job in the sense that you may or may not be required to carry a gun, because you may or may not be a target for being a cop, depending on where you live. If you see suspicious people, you call your cop buddies - you do not go start chasing people, and start gunfights. Nobody owes some random guy anything, doesn't matter what his job is, he can't start chasing people down - and if he does, them shooting at him is pretty reasonable - in many states, it's entirely legally protected. In fact, they TRIED to retreat, so it may be anywhere, depending on more specifics.

Do a tiny bit of research - of course weapons are planted. Who the fuck are you to say what who had where, or what shows up in what evidence locker, or whatever?

Like that guy who shot himself in the back with his hands handcuffed in the back of a cop car, after he'd already been searched - turned out he magically had a gun. Then the autopsy showed that he was shot in the front. Cops still haven't changed their story, as far as I know.

You're on duty when you say (dispatch name here)(officer number here) will be 10-41, or something similar to that. You are absolutely NOT permanently on duty with a license to harass, "investigate", chase, and kill anybody you please.

 

The news article I posted from St. Louis said he was on duty on a second job as a security officer.
