my dad is onto climate change. I was surprised and a little proud when he mentioned the other day that we need political leadership at the helm. go dad! and he's going to be 75.

Some of my generation still 100% respect your generation, you know as the saying goes: "respect your elders".
Some younger people would rather you not express your wisdom - the more educated people who you condone.
Just think what the future could be like when the younger generation completely ignores all advice...

Age isn't a determining factor for critical thinking ability. Yes, the longer one's been around, the greater exposure to the possibility of being trained to think critically, but those who haven't received that training of whatever age are unlikely to exhibit it and just latch onto something that sounds or feels good.

I agree with you, because some older people tend to lose the plot with age.
I'm 25. Honestly if I was the Queen I'd have the USA on the tip of my finger. I'd unify the commonwealth, have China in my palm, North Korea wouldn't even be a peasant it would be a flee.
Strong leadership these days. No one cares.

No they havent been warning us in the correct way.

The fuel for those fires is vegetation that regenerates quicker than ever before. And you wont find any research on those regeneration rates until recently

The temperature differences between North and Southern hemispheres, and differences in ice melts also a big misstep

Not that there ever was a singular collective group of "scientists"

Land subsidance is mainly due to groundwater extraction, or methane or oil extraction

The fact that you spelt Jakarta with a d there gives me a fair indication of the type of 2013 article you would have read

Jakartas population sits at 10.7 million, has been climbing by a rate of over 1% a year since the 2013 plan to "move the capital"

A mere $33billion to try move a city of 10 million should have been an instant red flag for you

It an often misaligned example used

    1. It would cost ten times that amount to move even half the inhabitants

    2. Its not sinking because of climate change

    3. There are about 700,000 extra people living in that city to compared to 6 years ago when the plan that didnt eventuate to move the city was announced

  10. Yuck... people farting in the dirt... gross in deed. Well you did say methane, vg.

Lol, the journalism you read huh

City is sinking due to land subsidance

Anyone else can just google "Jakarta sinking"

"It's already happening - North Jakarta has sunk 2.5m in 10 years and is continuing to sink by as much as 25cm a year in some parts, which is more than double the global average for coastal megacities."

    From:
The fastest-sinking city in the world

It's sinking 10 inches a year. And because you didn't do your homework you have conned yourself into thinking the 0.8 mm a year sea level rise is the bigger threat

    Because you are spreading missinformation

If the land is sinking due to subsidence 10 inches a year. The sea levels rising 0.8 millimetres a year.

Then the problem is 97.7‰ due to land subsidence and nothing to do with global warming

Also, do me a favour and double check who started this thread
