2013 to 2017, so its been 6 years since it was first noticed, 2 years after they worked out where its coming from to get to the mainstream media, then hardly front page news.

And we are still talking close to 100,000 tonnes a year of CFC-11, about 1/4 of the levels in 1980s that scared the crap out of everyone.

A far more serious thing than CO2 levels....and yet......

NOAA just released latest C02 level figures

2019 peak was the 2nd highest jump on record

This is kind of a long paragraph. I think the plans disagree with the facts: that co2 emissions didn't slow down, at least not according to NOAA. This excerpt is from "Environmental Policy: New Directions for the Twenty-First Century.

CO2 levels are increasing at an increasing rate

We are still outputting 80,000 tonnes of CFC-11 a year, mainly thanks to China, thats about 1/4 of the rate it of the 1980s when output was worst

Apparently, CFCs are banned by this protocol, but not all countries signed it. International Actions - The Montreal Protocol on Substances that Deplete the Ozone Layer | US EPA The Montreal Protocol on Substances That Deplete the Ozone Layer - United States Department of State

Here is an Australian site with information about the Montreal Protocol. It was originally signed by 46 countries, and now there are 200 signatories; though I can't seem to find a list of them. Department of the Environment and Energy

Ozone hole is still there, just that everyone got bored of caring about it

This is off a NASA website by the way, NASA outsourced monitoring of the ozone layer to Finland and Netherlands science agencies

Humans don't understand how much they take for granted from the Earth. Futrure scientists and farmers alike will hate the political climate of this time.

    The Extinction Crisis

Unlike past mass extinctions, caused by events like asteroid strikes, volcanic eruptions, and natural climate shifts, the current crisis is almost entirely caused by us — humans. In fact, 99 percent of currently threatened species are at risk from human activities, primarily those driving habitat loss, introduction of exotic species, and global warming [3]. Because the rate of change in our biosphere is increasing, and because every species' extinction potentially leads to the extinction of others bound to that species in a complex ecological web, numbers of extinctions are likely to snowball in the coming decades as ecosystems unravel.

You are human, so that includes you.

You dont understand how much you take for granted from the earth. Action needs to happen, not people sitting around pretending they are less guilty than others

And the number one problem with that habitat loss is the spread/ number of humans.

In the course of one lifetime we making small changes might have a small impact.

But over the course of the next 10,000 years its not going to do shit

    There is only one solution

It’s scary...Just saw the latest news about the Trump people editing a State Dept. report on the implications of climate change. What will you say to your children about why you allowed such an environmental catastrophe to be perpetuated in the US?
Many years ago I listened to a crazed coworker talk about the UN invading the US with all black choppers. If we allow this country to continue with environmental crimes, think there will come a time when the rest of the world will will say enough is enough. The USA will change its behavior...and the rest of the world won’t be asking.

    Damn
If there is one thing VG can’t stand
    It’s false righteousness.

Took me about a decade to figure out that that fact explains like 80% of his behavior on hf.

Would you be able to tell me who Millard Fillmore was without googling his name?

169 years from now, no one is going to remember who Trump was, certainly not going to blame him for climate change

    Someone: I'm changing my ways
    VG: doesn't matter because China

Someone: China and the US and other big countries need to change their ways!
    VG: ha! You hypocrite!

    No one:
Vg: death to all humans mwahah

    I'm paraphrasing of course

.......I should probably say, I actually agree with him that our small changes aren't going to amount to much in 10,000 years. It's going to take massive change on a massive scale

It's a combined effort of industry, governments AND consumers.

The CFCs from Chinas "rogue" factories, mainly coming from the production of insulating foam for buildings, prefabricated and spray on, that would have been shipped around the world

Tell us how a combined effort of industry, governments AND consumers is going to put a stop to it

Assuming those factories are rogue in the first place and the Chinese government doesnt just start them back up again once attention dies down

Some of those products no doubt made it to Europe, we going to hunt them down, tear down some buildings, spend the money it takes to dispose of that foam without it contaminating the atmosphere

How is a combined effort of industry, governments AND consumers going to bring back the 20.000 species of bees that dont exist anymore or filter out all the microplastics that are now everywhere or recycle the types of plastics that can never be recycled
