Ann Coulter On The Roast Of Rob Lowe.

​I had no intention of watching Comedy Central's Roast of Rob Lowe until I found out that Ann Coulter was one of the roasters. And holy shit, they tore her a new one! I would have felt sorry for her if I didn't hate her guts!

Wow, I don't care for her either...but still hard to watch.

 

Roasts are supposed to be about making insulting jokes about people that you like, or toward whom you at least bear some good will.

Some of the jokes may have fit that description, but Pete Davidson's "joke" that (may not be an exact quote, but close) "she calls her self a polemicist, but most people call her a ****. A racist ****" has no wit or humor to it, it's just pure hate.

I know very little about Anne Coulter, other than she seems to make a living by saying outrageous things. It's still pretty low of comedy central to do this.

 

i like roasts as a general rule. i enjoy mean humor. but it does seem like they've been going downhill lately. who the fuck is rob lowe to get a roast anyway? didn't he make a couple movies in the 80s and then kind of disappear until he started making shitty commercials last year? and what happened to getting friends of the roastee and comedians to do the roast? now it's just random low level celebrities. ann coulter? isn't she one of those fox news ladies or something? what qualifies her to do a roast?

i haven't actually seen this one yet. usually comedy central plays their roasts 24/7 for a couple weeks after they come out, but i think this one only ran once. makes me think it must have been really awful or something.

I've never found any of these roasts to be very entertaining.

They talk a big game and drink champagne like good friends after the recording. Ann Coulter. Id never heard of her. She just sat the more anyway, like a hawk. What would make me laugh is if she cracked the shits. But she didn't, she just sat there, like a rock, which made anyone insulting her look like the moron IMO. Like, is that the best you can do? Call me a corpse or a ****? Lol. Wonder how much she pulled just by sitting there.

 

Ann Coulter is very hateable..... I'm not even gonna watch the video. Just seeing her/it/whatever makes my blood pressure go up.

Some of the people posting said they don't know much about Ann Coulter, so I thought these quotes would initiate them.

 

i attempted to initiate myself by reading some of those quotes. i feel like at least some of them are made up, or else taken completely out of context.

either way, i'm even more perplexed now at what she has to do with rob lowe. is he one of those 'murica people too?

 

I read a few quotes. I like her already.

I took notice of some as well and what makes it lame, besides too less good jokes, is the blatant asskissing and insisting its all done with respect and love.
It's great that its really done in good fun and with respect and all, but emphasizing on that shit too much ruins the roasts on itself. But mosts jokes I watched on there were terrible lame and cliché, so there wasn't much to ruin. Very boring show

 

It's definitely not the same as Dean Martin giving it to Johnny Carson. Martin came on one time and welcomed everyone to the "Miggim" hotel and casino. He was speaking of MGM. Comedy is in a bit of chill these days. It's either tame or worthy of death threats, the middle ground is gone since the advent of the Butthurt Age riding along the edge of the Information Age and the Age of Government Failures.

Rob Lowe has done some very funny stuff over the years, most of it making fun of his own reputation. As for Coulter, all I ever seem to hear her say is "My book", "In my book" and "If you read my book". When I do hear the other words, they're assembled in hostile tones with the evil "libberrals" (which must be said after drinking buttermilk to sound like her) as her primary villain. I'm still perplexed about why she'd be on stage for a roast of anyone. Except maybe any of the fake republicans that Trump made fools of in the primaries.

 

Not only did Jewel look great, she handled the Ann Coulter issue with style.
