Well, every pagan religion I know of looks down upon harming anything that can endure pain. So, I would stick to the incense and flowers buddy :]
lol, so what you mean is Wicca. Because many, MANY forms of paganism are a far cry from the fluffy bunny, dont hurt anything mentallity of Wiccans. Asatru, for instance. Or Discordianism. Or Voodoo. Or a great many others.
It shows the IQ of anyone that wants to hurt lower forms of life for some human belief. And it ain't high.
Ya, I realized that after I posted it. Because were watching 'Apocolypto' in school and there lots of sacfrifices. So, I take my last comment back. :]
but then what would the war protestors do? and all those people sending medical and food aid to africa? my god, they'd have ot take up knitting or something.
well look at the vudun religion, they sacrafice cows and goats to their gods as appeasing them, but afterwards they have a feast with the cow's and goat's meat. the only real componet to the sacrafice is the blood pour out of the goat and cows neck onto the shrine of the specific deity.
Hello, Does anyone know what herbs, flowers, vegetables, burnt or dried can be used in rituals as alternatives to animal sacrifice ? We read a book which gave contact info for someone who had this information, but our letter brought no details. This would be in addition to cowrie shells. I found one posting on the web that advised that animal products such as eggs, milk, cheese, etc could be used. Any sharing of what to use and when would be appreciated. Thanks.
Red wine/dark ale and dark bread is used in the red meal...to simulate the killing, you cut the bread with a knife, and slide the knife, blade flat, across the top of the cup...tipping it to represent the splash of blood on the altar. Have some wine and bread, then mix the two together and give it to who/what you were sacrificing to. This meal is usually shared with the land and dead..to eat food of the dead (red) is to become of the dead...therefore like them and able to communicate with them.
