Ancient Evenings - Norman Mailers epic novel of the lives of Menenhetet in ancient Egypt. Not a light read (Mailer did once describe himself as 'heavyweight writing champion of the world') - but well worth the effort. It is a stunning, at times shocking and deeply absorbing read. Anyone read it? Or any of Mailer's other works?
