Paramahansa Yogananda has been called the father of yoga and meditation in the West. His Autobiography helped spark and inspire a spiritual revolution across the world. His Autobiography has been called the New Age hippie Bible.

An excerpt from the Oxford Research Encyclopedia reads: Paramahansa Yogananda arrived in the United States, propagating a unique hybridized theology that blended Hindu and Christian ideas and practices. ... In 1940, he published his most famous writing, Autobiography of a Yogi, which combined the personal account of his own yogic path blended with an account of the most extraordinary and miraculous yogis of India. The book was lauded among his followers initially, but it became a countercultural sensation only in the late 1960s when it was widely regarded as the “hippie Bible.”

Swami Kriyananda was a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda. He founded Ananda and Ananda Village. Kriyanada produced a video titled - Paramahansa Yogananda: Avatar of the New Age. For 50 years Ananda Village has exemplified the spiritual ideals of Paramahansa Yogananda’s “World Brotherhood Colonies”. Under the guidance and blessing of Swami Kriyananda (1926-2013) and the great guru Yogananda, Ananda has developed communities, schools, businesses, music and the arts, and retreat centers throughout the world where spiritual friendships, meditation, yoga, and selfless service thrive.

Two paragraphs from an article titled "The Story of How Ananda Evolved From a Hippie Dream to a Global Spiritual Work" read:

We were a group of largely ex-hippies, living in the woods and thinking we’d dropped out of society and would have our ideal little life in the country. But Swamiji knew that we were destined to establish a “great work,” as Yogananda called it, and that it would offer a new way of life for people everywhere in the dawning age of energy-awareness.

Yoganada said, “Self Realization has come to unite all religions.” The true meaning of Self-realization, and of the movement he started, is that he wanted to show people the spiritual principles by which life works, and the way to know God.

Wikipedia: When the Summer of Love finally ended, thousands of hippies left San Francisco, a large minority of them heading "back to the land". These hippies created the largest number of intentional communities or communes in the history of the United States [Ananda evolved from this hippie dream], forming alternative, egalitarian farms and homesteads in Northern California, Colorado, New Mexico, New York, Tennessee and other states.

I was a part of the out of San Francisco Bay Area hippie communal movement, and I was following Yogananda. At the time, the hippie communal people who were with me traveled to Wahkon, Minnesota. Our mission to continue on in the communal way and add more members, possibly including members of my large kinship Rainbow family (the Mr. & Mrs. I. C. Rainbow family) came to an end. However, I am now on a mission to influence the original members of our late-1960s communal way to come together again in Wahkon and establish a commune, and then add more members, especially including the members of my large kinship Rainbow family. I believe this "sign of the rainbow" will appear in Wahkon and another "great work" evolving from the hippie communal dream will become manifest.

I think there is less enthusiasm for unification in the name of hip-ness than we sometimes imagine or otherwise hallucinate though.

I'm not a party pooper. And I don't rain on anyone's parade. But I think, at least for me, sometimes we imagine ourselves to be large and powerful when we're actually a fraction of what we suppose.

It's somewhat utopian to look through rose colored glasses at the world and imagine "someday you'll join us and the world will be as one". ;)

That said, it's my dream too. I want everyone to live in more harmony, and if that's measurable I think we should make it a goal and try to attain it.

The late-1960s communal movement hippies who traveled with me from the San Francisco Bay Area to Wahkon, Minnesota, and who I am currently trying to influence to join me again in Wahkon to reestablish our original mission and then fulfill it-have joined me, in respect to our current mission to generally promote the following theology and religious worldview.

A popular Caryl Productions video on the New Age is titled "Yoga Uncoiled - Christ Centered Yoga False Christianity - Documentary". The video includes an introductory documentary about how the New Age spiritual philosophy entered the mainstream by way of the Beatles' promotion of the yogic Hindu, 1960s hippie spiritual revolution. In this video a narrator states that the 1960s spiritual revolution that the Beatles began to promote, continued to spread throughout the '70s and succeeding decades, and that it "is still rapidly gaining global acceptance today."

The Beatles promoted the spiritual philosophy of Paramahansa Yogananda and his line of Gurus. Yogananda's book Autobiography of a Yogi has been called the New Age Hippie Bible.

Paramahansa Yogananda and his book Autobiography of a Yogi are featured in the Oxford Research Encyclopedia. One paragraph in this encyclopedia reads: Paramahansa Yogananda arrived in the United States, propagating a unique hybridized theology that blended Hindu and Christian ideas and practices.

Kriyananda (1926 - 2013) was a direct disciple of Paramahansa Yogananda, and the founder of Ananda, a worldwide movement of spiritual intentional communities based on Yogananda's World Brotherhood Colonies ideal. Kriyananda produced a Youtube video titled: Paramahansa Yogananda: Avatar of the New Age.

    Yogananda wrote:

In titling this work The Second Coming of Christ, I am not referring to a literal return of Jesus to earth....A thousand Christs sent to earth would not redeem its people unless they themselves become Christlike by purifying and expanding their individual consciousness to receive therein the second coming of the Christ Consciousness, as was manifested in Jesus....Contact with this Consciousness, experienced in the ever new joy of meditation, will be the real second coming of Christ—and it will take place right in the devotee’s own consciousness.

There is a distinguishing difference of meaning between Jesus and Christ. His given name was Jesus; his honorific title was “Christ.” In his little human body called Jesus was born the vast Christ Consciousness, the omniscient Intelligence of God omnipresent in every part and particle of creation. This Consciousness is the “only begotten Son of God,” so designated because it is the sole perfect reflection in creation of the Transcendental Absolute, Spirit or God the Father.

Kriya Yoga: No other science has detailed the descent of the individualized consciousness of God as the soul into man and its evolutionary and spiritual ascent back into Spirit. In this modern age, Kriya Yoga has been brought forward after being lost in the dark ages, as a definite method to hasten the spiritual evolution of human consciousness and open the inner cerebrospinal pathway of ascension, releasing the soul through the spiritual eye into the kingdom of the Holy Ghost, the Christ Consciousness, and the Cosmic Consciousness of God the Father.

God the Father is the Absolute, Unmanifested, existing beyond vibratory creation. God the Son is the Christ Consciousness existing within vibratory creation; this Christ Consciousness is the “only begotten” or sole reflection of the Uncreated Infinite. Its outward manifestation or “witness” is Aum or Holy Ghost, the divine, creative, invisible power which structures all creation through vibration.

Christ has been much misinterpreted by the world. Even the most elementary principles of his teachings have been desecrated, and their esoteric depths have been forgotten. They have been crucified at the hands of dogma, prejudice, and cramped understanding. Genocidal wars have been fought, people have been burned as witches and heretics, on the presumed authority of man-made doctrines of Christianity. How to salvage the immortal teachings from the hands of ignorance? We must know Jesus as an Oriental Christ, a supreme yogi who manifested full mastery of the universal science of God-union, and thus could speak and act as a savior with the voice and authority of God. He has been Westernized too much.

The late-1960s hippie communal people that I am currently trying to influence to join me again in Wahkon-to reestablish our original mission and then fulfill it, have a favorite video. It is also my favorite video. This favorite video of ours presents a United Church of Christ pastor's homily. It is a Youtube video and it is titled "Steve Jobs, Yogananda and Jesus."

Hi Wahkon, this is the channeling that we received and write down 7-8 years ago, related to the dilemmas you have:

ABOUT THE JONATHAN'S CONCEPTION AND LIFE

    I PART
"... and then the hunter killed the wolf, tore his stomach and pulled out the grandmother and Little Red Riding Hood."

So, if there was no brave hunter, we were losing the Grandma and Little Red Riding Hood. Thank you brave hunter.

And in the next fairy tale there are many unrealistic elements, and on this occasion we will dwell on the conception of the protagonist.

The second part of the Bible highlights the marvelous conception of Jonathan, where Mary - who at that time was a virgo intact, i.e. a virgin said to become pregnant directly by the Holy Spirit. What exactly the Holy Spirit is we do not know, but we can assume that it is a kind of divine being - consciousness. Otherwise, this section on Immaculate Conception has been used by Priests for centuries to impose a complex of guilt on believers and thus keep them in bondage.

The truth about Jonathan's conception, however, is much simpler and it is a story that happens across the globe, where Mary at first sight falls in love with a traveling merchant Jonathan, who promised to marry her and stay alive with her in the village. Waiting for his family to attend their wedding, they became lovers, after which Mary remained pregnant and shortly afterwards he disappeared from the village.

At that time sleeping with a man before marriage was unthinkable, and if the girl remained pregnant, she had three choices:
    - commit suicides
    -to become an animator-lady
    - to marry a widower

Mary chose the third solution, marrying the elderly widow Joseph. When she gave birth, she gave him a father's name to remind her of him, because she had genuinely loved him all her life, despite being abandoned by him.

After Christianity became the official religion of the Roman Empire, all other religions were banned and their temples demolished, Christianity's opponents being the fact that Jonathan was an extramarital child, used in each other's quarrels.

That is why the Christian church made up the story of his heavenly father and the sinless conception.

    II PART
Many children born of love at first sight are more kind, intelligent and generous than their peers, as was the case with Jonathan. Because of these qualities, everyone in the village loved him, which made him not feel pain due to the absence of his father. Jonathan was also loved by Jewish priests, as he very early showed an enviable knowledge of the study of the holy books of his religion, but the religious scriptures could not give an answer to the questions he was looking for. That is why at 16 he knocked on the door of the monastery where the Essenes lived.

The Essenes were the third sect in Judaism and, unlike Rabin and the Pharisee, they did not act in the church, but lived in separate monasteries dedicated to meditation, herbalism and spiritual healing. The news of Jonathan reached them, so his request for admission to the Essen community was answered in the affirmative.

Jonathan spent the next 16 years in the monastery, during which he arrived in Enlightenment, and some time later he trusted his Confessor that he felt the need to share his spiritual experience with people, after which he was allowed to leave the monastery. He left the monastery as he entered - only with the clothes he wore. His return home brought much joy to Mary, somewhat weakened by his decision not to marry, but after so many years his beloved son returned home, bringing her infinite happiness.

Many in the village are remembered the favorite boy Jonathan and were interested in hearing what had happened to him over the years. Jonathan told them where he had spent years, telling them about his spiritual experiences and vision. Many, especially the younger ones, liked their appearance and the spiritual experiences of which they spoke, although they did not fully understand them, because they were different from the teachings of the Judaist church.

One of the interested people was a girl named as her mother - Mary, and on one occasion after finishing meeting in the square, she asked him to accompany her to his house and by the way, explain some of the spiritual ideas that were not clear to her. Jonathan happily accepted and in a pleasant conversation they came to her house, after which she invited him to her house, to continue the conversation about spirituality. She served a snack and wine diluted with water, to which she added a certain amount of aphrodisiacs. The cozy and relaxed atmosphere, together with the delicious food, the wine spiced with aphrodisiacs and the proximity of the beautiful Maria, made them lovers. Some time later Mary informed him that she was pregnant, after which he decided to marry her.

Although not planned, Jonathan philosophically accepted the marriage and the expected birth of the child, believing that his responsibilities between spouses and parents would not adversely affect the mission of bringing spirituality to people. This turned out to be true, but his public seminars on spirituality began to annoy the priests of the Judaist church.

As Judea was occupied at that time by the Nazi world order embodied in the Roman Empire and the Italians, the Jews sought to free themselves from their occupation. The power was in the hands of Jewish priests divided into Sadducees and rabbis, who represented religious, statesmen, judges, police ... and all other leaders. They were subordinate to the Italians, which means they were part of the occupation regime.

However, the Jews also included the zilotes, who organized rebellions against the Italians. Jonathan, who then began to heal people, attracted not only the attention of the people, the attention of the Italians and the Jewish priests, but also the attention of Zilot. The Zilots realized that they could use it as an initial capsule that would raise people to the rebellion, because by its appearance and the spiritual gifts Jonathan showed, it coincided with the description of the Savior Messiah announced in his sacred books.

To avoid the rebellion, the Italians told the Judaist priests: "Jonathan must be removed as soon as possible, because he is preparing a people for the rebellion, so find him any fault, so that we can have the opportunity to arrest him and execute him".

The rabbis, whom Jonathan simply bothered as a spiritualist, found him guilty of presenting himself as the son of God, which according to Jewish law was a mortal sin. Then they asked the Italians to arrest him and condemn him.

The Italians did it and sentenced him to death, although the Jewish people demanded that he be released and instead punished Barabbas, who committed numerous robberies and murders, but Pilate is unbreakable - the rebels must be scared to death from Jonathan. That is why he is publicly whipped, crowned with a crown of thorns, wrapped in a dirty cloth instead of a cape, and forced to drag the cross on the streets where he will be crucified, so that people can see that there is no help. of the "messiah." While passing through the streets dragging the cross, the Jews spit and insulted the Italian soldiers, but their military forces were so strong that Jonathan liberation could not be carried out, and under great security they took him to the hill of Golgotha, where he was crucified on the cross where he was taken to a state of apparent death.

That is, because they knew that due to strong military forces their release was impossible, the Zilots during their escort to Golgotha Hill made an incident during which one of their female members made their way to Jonathan, giving him a drink of " Water". However, instead of water, there was a drink that brought the person to a state of apparent death, and the guards who protected the cross with the crucified Jonathan considered him dead. Then they took him out of the cross and took him to a kind of chapel-grave carved in the rock, in which the deceased convicts were housed until the family came to take his body.

The chapel had a ventilation opening (protected by thorns so that small animals did not enter) through which the Zilots entered and took the drugged Jonathan, and shortly thereafter spread the story that he "ascended to Heaven", so that the Italians Don't look for him. Jonathan was nourished by Zilots in his shelter, which they reported to both Marys, and they entrusted it to little Sara, because she was shaken by her father's death. Sara told the news to a friend, which the Italians discovered and put her home under surveillance, which is why the Zilots, along with Jonathan, sent them to France.

In France, the family lived a quiet and withdrawn life on their property in the vicinity of the current city Dijon, without socializing too much with the locals. Upon his arrival in France, the relationship between his wife Mary and Jonathan at his request became friendly, which means that they no longer shared a common bed and Jonathan refused to participate in the conception of the children. At first, this was not right for Mary, but when she saw it was persistent, she accepted that lifestyle.

Jonathan spent time meditating and reflecting on his life, and did not attempt to transmit his spiritual knowledge to the locals. He died at the age of 92, his wife Mary 8 years before him and his mother Mary 20 years before her. Daughter Sarah married, had a large number of children and was a favorite in the neighborhood.

Channeled from where? the Pleroma? Who is we? The aeons? They need to learn to communicate in terms that are intelligible to us humans. Somebody musta hought this was a clever allegory based on the Jesus story, but it doesn't make much sense when the drugs wear off.

We are sorry, we missed Your comment at the time, so with a little delay, we will respond to it: why is the communication on this forum by the discussions who are addressing to us (all of our comments) at such a low and hostile level? Is the basic culture of communication with people an unknown concept for some discutants, while others are forbidden any kind of communication/comment.
