Analyzing Seduction from a layman's psychological perspective.

We know it happens, we know what it feels like to be really into somebody. But can that sensation be manufactured to a degree and how much control do people have in causing that feeling to occur in someone they desire?

This thread's working definition of seduction: Getting the person you set your sights out on to become interested in you romantically and sexually. Preferably within a short period of time but not necessary.

This thread is created to discuss and debate the phenomena known as seduction:

1. Why does it happen?

2. How do you think it occurs?

3. What role does culture play in how seduction is done and how effective might it be in one culture versus another?

4. Is the phenomena of seduction universal transcending culture?

5. Is seducing a guy or a girl easier? Do the techniques vary depending on the gender of the person one is trying to seduce?

6. How important of a role do good looks matter in the seduction arts?

7. How important does money play in the seduction arts?

8. Are certain age groups more vulnerable to seduction than others? If you believe so state the age range you are specifying and state your reasons why you believe this. What about certain age groups that are resistant to seduction techniques?

9. What role do pickup lines serve in the seduction arts? Is it just for humor or do they actually work in certain contexts? If so what are those contexts?

(Note: We are not discussing the moral implications of seducing someone for sex only, or for a valid genuine relationship with the hope it'll go somewhere serious like marriage. Rather we are discussing why we think it works and how it works).

Why does it happen?
We are human. Seduction of another is part of the human condition.

Multiple ways - mutual attraction, loneliness/frustration, demonstration of power, need for security, curiosity.

3. What role does culture play in how seduction is done and how effective might it be in one culture versus another?
In some cultures, seduction may be seen as a challenge, in others, it is just an expected norm.

4. Is the phenomena of seduction universal transcending culture?
Certainly, multicultural societies are finding that different cultures mix in the "nicest" possible ways with generational change.

5. Is seducing a guy or a girl easier? Do the techniques vary depending on the gender of the person one is trying to seduce?
Guys - way easier. And I have seduced both genders.

6. How important of a role do good looks matter in the seduction arts?
Initially, probably quite important, though there is often the "sympathy" seduction. "See if you can get into the fat/ugly girl's/guy's pants."

7. How important does money play in the seduction arts?
With a certain strata of society - some.

No, each age group has its seductees.

No one got a shag by being silent. You don't have to have deliberate pick-up lines however - just demonstrate in some way your intentions and your attraction to the other.

 

Although I find all this very interesting and have thought about it and discovered so much.... I and simply too lazy to answer it all, or to reveal my conclusions on the matter!!!!

Sympathy screws don't exist(as far as I've seen in my lifetime)..... If only they did!!!!!!!!! Women don't get a kick out of making someone's week, that's not how they think. I though would be willing to shag a woman out of the kindness of my heart(assuming she's reasonably attractive)

Obviously it would be no problem for you to get into the fat guys pants who's already desperate to get laid.

But yeah, looks play a very important role(speaking from a male perspective). Even though I have a hard enough time getting laid, I still will only screw a girl, if she's an 8 or higher.... sometimes maybe a 7 if I'm horny.

A psychopath can seduce by studying you and mirroring. They listen very well.

 

In this respect a lot of nice and good people can take a leaf out of the sociopath playbook.

(psychopaths are usually violent Aerianne, I don't think you meant to say that word)
