I guess I can tell you all, I am not a young man anymore. I am not middle age yet. But I am not young. Anyway, I am showing the signs of age. And one thing that sometimes happens, is I lose control of my "function", if you know what I mean. So far, the only place it has happened has been at home, and usually as I am entering the bathroom (which is fortunate). In fact it just happened a couple of days ago. Made quite a mess. I could save all my clothes. But I think I will have to throw out the bathroom rug. What on earth do I do if this happens in public, like in a store? I have already asked my friends and family and they say, just leave as soon as possible. But I think I should probably tell the manager, so he knows he has to clean up the mess. What would any of you do? And I have to ask: has this ever happened to one of you? And how did you handle it? I have to also tell you what my doctor said. My father was having the same problem. And the Dr said, take a tablespoon of Benefiber in a glass of water every day. My father claimed it worked but I have had more mixed success with it. Thank you in advance for your non-judgemental and civil replies
49 Is Way To Young To Have That Happening.......Forget Your Doctor And See A Urologist..... Cheers Glen.
Jimbee, Is your doctor an actual gastroenterologist? If not, I recommend you get a referral to see one. They will know more how to go about treating your condition. Does this happen with eating particular foods, or does it randomly hit you no matter what you eat? If all else fails, I know 49 may be too early to want to use this, but some brand of adult diaper may be an option.
You should not be having incontinence at 49 years old. Sounds more like a GI or food intolerance issue than a geriatric one. Maybe take a look at your diet, and start eliminating foods you think might be giving you this issue. But you should probably see a doctor for this.
Yes, I should have said, Dr. P is a certified gastrenterologist. I don't know about the adult diaper thing though. The other day, when the stuff hit the fan, I don't even think that would have made a difference.
I understand. And yeah, the adult diaper may be a stretch. Could it be IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome)? Man, this has got to be miserable. I'll do a little research and see if I get some advice. Hopefully other HF members who know more will chime in.
OK...I Guess I Got That Wrong......I Thought He Was Having A Bladder Control Issue..... :toilet: Cheers Glen.
See a dietitian, and do some pelvic floor exercise.. but agree with a few here, see someone soon.. good luck with this, can't be nice.
Wikipedia says 45 to 65 But I'd say after 40 26.66 to 53.33 technically if average life expectancy is 80
avg lifespan/2 = middle of life age. by usage of course, the term is a bit more ambiguous. older then young and younger then old. anything from over 39 until you can retire with a pension, sounds about right. we were talking about public sanitation and the avoidance of an epidemic of dissentary? (i hate when i can't remember how to spell something, and no way i try to, spellcheck comes up with anything close to the word i was trying to)
