Wrote this when i was in grade 9 Grade 9 were ages I think: 14-15 An Act By Damaya (Grade 9) On the outside A pasted smile upon my lips My happy, loving eyes Putting on an act My friends don’t notice anything Only the happy person that I am Inside, My heart achs My soul crying out I was only putting on an act Tears making streams down my cheeks Onto my lips Down my chin Onto my shirt Down to the floor Tasting that salty teary, taste I try to be happy I feel trapped I want to break free I want to be me
