I'm going to Amsterdam for the first time in november and I want to know all your best coffeeshops and experiences. I will ofc visit the tourist places such as Barneys, Bulldog, Greenhouse etc but I would love to find some more local, secret places with good weed and great service I am going to be there from Nov 12th until 17th and would love to meet some fellow stoners, dopers, potsmokers, hippies, rastas and nice ppl there. Perhaps for a joint or a coffee
There was one called Banjo's run by a guy called James who had been growing dreads since 1980, he was pretty cool, been a while since i went there though, stick to the ones near the main square they had a pretty good vibe.
If you can, try taking a train out to a city a bit further away from Amsterdam and hit up the coffee shops there. When I was in A-dam I went to Delft and went to a coffee shop called The Game. They had awesome weed and hash, and it was much cheaper than what I found in Amsterdam. I feel like there are far fewer tourist traps if you go outside of Amsterdam. But with the new rules I am not sure what to expect anymore. I know Amsterdam itself has still decided to sell to foreigners. Not sure about other places, although if I recall correctly it was mainly border towns that seemed to really be strict about the new laws.
This is the best advice! Seriously do it. I have no experience with coffeeshops in Delft myself but I lived in the netherlands all my life and I definately wouldn't go for Amsterdam for my weed or the atmosphere in coffeeshops
I recommend coffeeshops in Deventer, Tilburg and of course 'my' towns of Leeuwarden (not sure I'd recommend that city for a relatively short tourist trip if you are visiting netherlands for the first time) and Groningen. Those city centres are all small enough to walk haha so just stroll around and look for a good place.
Spots in A-dam will serve you, mostly. As a couple people said try going outside the city, often times there will be a better vibe then tourists on stag does getting baked. Talk to some of the locals. I lived in the Netherlands for three anda half years, (down near Eindhoven, a town just outside) which is in the south of the country. Often the places will be discrete but for sure open to business. I am envious I have a good few friends in the coutry that i keep in toucyh with via email, facebook, etc, but havent seen in years, cant wait to eventually save up some money and go and visit them.
Thank's for all these posts. I will make sure to ask some loacals there and try to get a little bit outside Amsterdam for a day or two
