They lost, as you say, for a variety of reasons, but mostly 'cuz voters are suckers for demagogues and snake oil salesmen; Joe was a poor communicator; Kamala, as an African-American/Asian woman was a bridge too far for many voters; immigrants were reportedly eating our pets; the bros can't distinguish between a tough guy and a bully; and the Palestinians in Michigan wanted to send the Dems a message. And of course, the price of eggs. But why dwell on the faults of Democrats, when those of their opponents are so glaring, immediate, and serious for all of us? Wait 'till those reciprocal tariffs go into effect on Aoril 2, and gramma can't get her Social Security check cuz SSA phones are out and the local office is closed ! Tornado season is just around the corner, and hurricane season is scheduled for the fall. Without NOAA and FEMA, will the states be up to the job? Who's up for invading Greenland and Canada? Who needs NATO when we've got Uncle Vlad? And when do we get to vacation at that Gaza resort the Prez is planning after those pesky Palestinians have been cleared out.

The main reason the Dems lost is because the majority of the voters in the last election were misogynistic bigots and bullies who are insensitive to the need of others and are extremely hateful of anyone different from them. They lack the ability to distinguish rational facts and data from bullshit and propaganda, and could care less....and they get angry if any proof of their ignorance is shown to them. (And by the way there is nothing wrong with being ignorant, what is wrong is refusing to acknowledge that ignorance or working to correct it). You are getting real change, unfortunately most of it is negative. A classic example of not understanding the ramifications of your actions. Obviously Kamala didn't run a perfect campaign. She errored by thinking the majority of voters had integrity, compassion, and respect for the rule of law. If the republic can withstand the next four years, and then another person similar to Trump is elected, the republic will finally fall.

Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. 13. Require universal background checks for gun sales. 14. Sign the John Lewis Voting Rights Act and the Freedom to Vote Act. 15. Pass the Equality Act to protect LGBTQ+ Americans from discrimination. 16. Extend the $35 cap on insulin and $2,000 cap on out-of-pocket spending to all Americans. 17. Make tax credit enhancements for health care premiums permanent. 18. Launch a National Health Equity Initiative to address health challenges that disproportionately impact Black men. 19. What policies that address the working class should she have added? I agree she didn't reach the working class or, for that matter, the majority of the voting public. But it wasn't due to her lack of support for the working class, of for lack of shouting her support from the roof tops...the failure to reach the working class was due to the working class not listening. The failure to provide a spectacle, a lack of carnival atmosphere and buffoonery. She appealed to logic, rational, and common sense instead of this: So, you're saying the Democrats should join the circus; give up all their values and integrity so that the win an election?
Harris should have staged a few mud wrestling events where she shaves Oprah Winfrey's head, then lied about ending the Ukrainian war on day one as she mocks that disabled Canadian Hollywood actor Michael J. Fox by waving her hands around and shaking a lot. Amerikans love that stuff. Also she shouldn't have laughed, that was the biggest complaint about her on this site, not her policies, her funny laugh.

What exactly are these deficiencies that the Dems need to correct to make them competitive? I could identify some. But the big problem lies with the "rational ignorance" and "both sides-ism" on the part of the electorate that leads voters to sit back and wait for their dream candidate. Did trump win or did Harris lose? I think Harris lost she had the upper hand in the beginning, but she did not stay on the offensive. but the fact is it does not matter now trump is in and from what I see most of his more egregious shit is failing getting overturned in court etc. I don't know if I can take all of this winning though real estate starting to crash, market headed down, inflation hanging on perhaps we need some more war?

A politicians job is to get there message out there she did not do that. everything you mentioned the majority of voters had no idea even a quarter of what her policies were. And most of those policies are just more of the same for the Democrats nothing revolutionary and the same hollow promises that you know from past experiences will be dropped immediately because of their wealthy donors.
