erm...i think the brits stop saying mum and bum by about 10yrs old so i guess they would sound pretty childish to an adult.... and if you consider that English is a mixture of original celtic, norman saxon and various other ancient languages archaic is a good description..but that includes American English...

I dont dislike either...its just the differences that fascinate me...although i prefer the british accent....
