I want to see this show in its entirity. I only caught one or two episodes on TV......and thought it was a brilliant show from what little I saw. Is the entire show so far abvailable on DVD? Guess I will check that out.
Each season is a separate DVD set. Every year, they start over with a completely different plot and different characters, but most of the cast stays the same. I love the concept.
This season (Hotel) is the darkest, bloodiest, most twisted yet. I'm not quite sure what I think of it. Gaga is outstanding in her role, basically playing the same evil character she plays in all her pop music videos, but this storyline takes my head places that it probably shouldn't go. I'm still going to watch all of it.
I agree, this one is already pretty twisted. My daughter told me she read that this season they are going to do/show something that is supposedly pretty bold and barely slipped past the censors. Not sure what more they could do/show unless it was full on XXX snuff porn...LOL I noticed how adeptly they maneuver the camera and do editing so you never actually see any of Gaga's girly parts.......LOL
In one of the first episodes, she's wearing nothing but a G-string and pasties, and they show you everything else. FX can't go much further than that. In terms of violence, their special effects are movie quality.
I just bought a set of the 4 seasons DVD's i have missed, and did not realize it was season 5 already in progress until seeing this thread the other day. It is on tonight, and I have to figure out the time and channel...It has not exactly been on my radar....
Today is not the 28th, it is the 29th...duh.....ok, missed this week's episode...I guess i will be buying season 5, too, eventually.
I watched the circus season with Jessica Lange and liked it. I only made it through the first episode of the new one....it was too much for me to watch.
I've been watching the latest season called "Apocalypse". So far it seems to be the best storyline, cast and it's not even full of gore (yet!). There are elements from previous seasons appearing, such as the black, latex suit in the second episode. What's wonderful is the cast (as usual). In addition to the regular cast, there is once again Cathy Bates, and unbelievably Joan Collins playing a rich bitch (surprised?) She stole the second episode at the end! And this season appears to be funnier than others, with all sorts of subtle cultural references and the actors all hamming it up. Jessica Lange will return later in the season. Then there's the wonderful plot. I don't want to give too much away, but it involves a group of people who've managed to escape nuclear armageddon in an underground bunker, which is a huge set. That's a well played storyline since the 50s and 60s "duck and cover" days, but this is unlike any scenario you've seen (or dreamed?) before. As usual, the subdued atmospheric setting of this season appears to be a vision of hell on earth after the apocalpse, where the bunker survivors (most of them rich), get to play out their end of time fantasies. And after living two years underground, things are getting a bit tense. Food running out, personality clashes, and unexpected appearances keep the show unpredictably interesting. A must watch, even if you weren't fond of the series before. In fact, I hadn't watched the last 3 seasons.
I wasn't too crazy about Roanoke. I thought it would get into the actual history of Roanoke. It was just tedious to me. I liked Cult but it stressed me out because the politics shit was too real lol I'm loving the new season though. I think Coven and Hotel were my favorite seasons.
I binged a season and a half of this and had to stop. The nightmares were too intense. I want to get back into it but I also want to sleep at night
