We look forward to American football each year, we support several colleges that we have connections with and love the excitement of the pre, game, and post. We have experienced wonderful tailgate gatherings with amazing people. Hope everyone is enjoying their current sport as much as we will be.
Football is the obsessive sport for Americans. They grab on to a team and live and die with their success and failures. Much like Soccer for other parts of the world football for Americans is the biggest event in their lives. But yet, the MLB out draws the NFL by a 3.3 to 1 margin. MLB has an advantage as there are 145 more games per team even though the NFL has more teams. Even if you throw in all of the NCAA Football attendance it still doesn't surpass MLB attendance. This just shows while Americans love the Football season, baseball is still the American pastime. I agree though. While I check the MLB standings daily and religiously follow my chosen team I am looking forward to the start of college football which is less than a month away.
If it wasn't for the "peer pressure " of everyone else having a team, i wouldn't give a rats ass. I only watch the games that come on broadcast tv, and that's if im not already doing something else. I don't follow sports news either unless it's a huge deal, like joe burrow just carted off the field during practice with a calf strain. This is a huge deal.. and all the merchandise i have has been xmas/birthday gifts. Basically other people have decided that my favorite team is the Bengals and the raiders. Never really had a choice.
I get a lot of derision because I'm a Cowboys fan. BUT.....I'm a sane Cowboys fan. I realized a long time ago that they won't be making it to another Super Bowl as long as Jerry Jones is their owner. (I also support the Titans, but not as much as the Cowboys.)
I've been a Buffalo Bills fan since I was 9, but I'm still a fairly casual football fan. It's tough to sit through an entire game. I don't know how people can watch 3-4 games over the course of a Sunday.
