i think as any other country america has its history, its ppl and so on but the problem is that all the ideas and values there are really false, i agree in russia ppl usu strive to live in america because of the good living standard and conditions but despise americans for their shallowness
America history? What history? The problem with America is that she doesn't have a culture, never had, never will. If McDonalds, Coca Cola or MTV is part of a nation's culture, than she has a culture. And do you know any respectful nation without culture? No. Yes they have it all, the richest and most powerfull nation ever, but can thay handle it? No. People would kill to have the oporunities that americans have, but americans don't realise that. The mention of the names of nations makes me think of "Imagine there's no nation." - I think that's pretty good advice. So i try to. I've traveled and i celebrate the differences but not as differences. Everyone being different and excepting that they're different and enjoying it. I just call it people being themselves.
About your poem: I think that America has a History. Things must have been happening 331 years as of 3 days ago.The recording of that history was done by liars, which really sucks. Good thing we're a young country. And i see people act heroically all the time. I think a nation is many things, but the firstly a nation is it's citizens. As a poem i like it. I've been known to bash America in a poem now and again.
