What's a real religion?

 

One whose basis is on worship of a being that intends to help human life prosper, not one that disassembles the very societal group who believes/ participates.

 

American Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met today with his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov for talks that have been described as "detailed" and "frank". They discussed the Idlib incident (the supposed chemical attack in Syria by the Assad regime) and agreed to a joint probe into it. Rex Tillerson said "We agreed to improve bilateral communications with Russia." The terrorist threat was also discussed.

Well I am glad both sides are talking. Communication really is the key.

Sorry, I just find it interesting that words like "real" and "fake" can be applied to something as arbitrary manmade dogma. I mean, it's all real because it exists and it's all fake because it's based on nothing, right?

I don't need "proof." That's not what I was getting at. I was simply asking what the difference between "fake" and "real" religions were. You said Islam was fake. My questions were to seek clarification and not to belittle you with smart-ass rhetoric, which seems to be what you've interpreted my motives to be. It seems we've gotten off on the wrong foot.

I don't have a horse in this race; I was just trying to join the discussion.

That being said, I stick to my earlier claim that all religions are both inherently fake and real: real in the sense that they exist, fake in the sense that they are little more than fables and fairy tales that people take way too literal. I think there is a lot the people of the world can learn from religion (some bad, some good), but I think killing each other over how "real" or "right" my religion is compared to your religion which is so obviously "fake" and "wrong" has gotten us to the current socio-political and terrorism climate we live in today.

And it's been a key component in more than a few wars.
